Working in a math classroom was one rewarding experience. On this day, I was involved in planning for a math lesson. My duties involved making a lesson plan. This included the provision problems, explanations as well as solutions for the problems. I also made an instruction on the teaching strategy that would be used in the classroom. I have always considered team work to be the best way in making plans. Therefore, in making this plan, I was involved in a team.

Of special interest was the plan on the teaching strategy to be employed in the classroom. This is the interactive teaching strategy. This strategy changes the perception that students have about math. Through this strategy, interactive practice is provided. This is in different areas for example in geometry, equations and expressions. In my coursework, I have learned that through interaction, knowledge is passed well and stored for meaningful times. In the classroom, the teacher is not supposed to be like the boss but rather a member of a large classroom group.

Many students have the perception that math is difficult but this can be changed where interaction is employed. I have also learned that math applies in our everyday activities. Whether consciously or unconsciously, the human mind is always involved in making some mathematical calculations. Therefore, math is very important and this is something that the teacher has to make known to the students. Interactive strategy will involve participation of all students in the classroom. Students will be given chances to make calculations and teach their fellow students thus making it a discussion.

Further, the teacher encourages group learning since students tend to learn and understand better from their peers. This also relates to the knowledge that communication is very important in every aspect, in the classroom, outside and even in the career world. Through interactive teaching, the teacher helps the students to enhance their skills of communication. Students thus learn how to express themselves and how to handle different situations.
