English 111 (Fall 2010)
English 111 has been one of the most interesting courses I have taken in a while. I must say that the skills I acquired in the course have come in handy on many fronts including but not limited to socialization and interaction. I took the course in Fall 2010 and though the course took only eight weeks, the projects we undertook were extensive and nothing was left to chance. I may not recall the exact number of essays I wrote but by pure estimation, they are in the region of four to five.
It is important to note that most of these essays were largely on a wide range of subjects and this is one aspect of the same I really identified with. Indeed, the decision to ensure that the essays we completed were on random subjects went a long way to enhance my creativity as well as sense of expression. Previously, I found it hard to write on a subject that was largely not premeditated.
We did write a number of persuasive essay and in so doing, I was able to learn a thing or two in regard to persuasive essays including their presentation, structure as well as format. Today, as a result of the skills I gained as far as persuasive essay writing is concerned, I can be able to come up with an argument and convince the reader or audience of the validity of the same. This is one of the most important skills I attained courtesy of English 111. In conclusion, I would say that irregardless of the length of the course, the concepts I got from the same are lifelong.
