Pedagogy

It is the study of the teaching process or being a teacher. It refers to the instruction strategies or instruction style. It is the corrective use of strategies of instructions.Likert style questionnaire. It can also be defined as learning methods study and also training and educational theories to create training and learning environment and contexts. It also involves the instructional materials development and evaluation methods of the activities of the learner pedagogy has three components which include: learning, curriculum and instruction.


These are are interconnected and if one area is applied without the others, then there can’t be effective learning or teaching. This means that learning depends on the curriculum and it is instructed. Pedagogy is divided into sub areas which include: Principles of training and education, design of learning and development, e-learning communication and motivation, instructional design, e-tutor training and e-learning pedagogy methods. (Rowe, 2002)


 

The practice of maximizing efficiency, effectiveness of instructions and other experiences of learning are called instructional design. This practice entails determining the needs and state of the learner and definition of the instruction end goal. The instruction’s outcome might be observed directly and measured scientifically or hidden completely. Effective instructions should be used which is planned direction and clear. The learner find it hard to understand information if the instructions are not effective. Instruction planning is a crucial factor that the instructor should apply in order for the students to learn and understand. The plans should be clear and this will ensure that the learners are enthusiastic about their goals and this will reduce anxiety of the instructor.


Instruction plan is a guide and should be designed to fit the students’ interests and needs. Goals are set to maintain the student’s motivation for a certain aim. An instructional should be able to explain objectives and goals that will benefit the student and these goals should be real and motivating. The effectiveness of instructions should be measured by looking at the effects of a particular program on the learners. Curriculum refers to subjects in a study course. It is an outline that is set from which a particular subject is taught. Curriculum should be adjusted to meet the needs of different students with any biasness. (Anderson, 2008).


 

Instructional materials are those tools that carry information needed by students. These materials include computers, TV. Slides, money, etc. To validate materials of instructions, it must be known how the materials shall be used in the class. The instructional materials may enhance or limit the effort of a teacher. The instructional materials should deliver information clearly, and in an organized manner. These materials should help the students in building understanding that is conceptual and also in development of skills through various activities that engage different students. A lot of instructional programs mostly which are based on text books include various materials that are supplementary and these resources are very valuable for teachers and students and therefore should be considered in the process of reviewing. (Rowe, 2002).
