Hinduism Verses Buddhism
Introduction
The term Hinduism has a greater meaning in the culture and religion of Indian community. This is because more than 80% of the Indian population associate themselves with Hinduism and thus the whole population have the urge of being related to that religion. Hinduism was developed early 2000BC which was as a result of Vedic religion. Hinduism has grown at a high speed and with its growth it gives verdict impact to the history, economic, culture and political environment of the India. It is believed that Hinduism was resulted from the war which was there in order to get freedom of the India. On the other hand the other hand, Buddhism is one of the major Chinese recognized religions. Gautama Buddha who was born in 563 was the founder of Buddhism religion. Buddhism is among the oldest religion.
Discussion
These two religions being the most common in India and china, they have developed greater effect in current world and in the past. Although Buddhism had no importance in china, it brought positive and negative impact in the population of the country. In the days of Gautama Buddha, Buddhism brought most of positive effects in caves and technology of china. With Buddhism being popular in china, most of the people used art work to make their living. The society used to make scripture which were used in Buddhism religion. During the chaotic time in china, Buddhism gained a good traction in politics. This is one of the major reasons as to why the ethnic groups were able to join and conquer their freedom. Because Buddhism becomes more popular in those days, there arose certain policies which governed the ruling parties in the country, (Eliot, 2008).
I n early 60s and 70s Buddhism had no power and with that result monasteries were greatly affected which led to imprisonment of the nuns and monks who were living there. The culture change had an impact to the Buddhism religion because most people who had knowledge about the religion were killed and imprisoned. In the current situation, there is a great problem of the Buddhism religion in the country, (Eliot, 2008). This is because most of people are going back to the culture. The reason as to why there is less success of the religion is due to the teachings of the so called monks. There are no qualified teachers of the religion and thus makes those who are studying the religion have little knowledge about it, (Coomaraswamy, 2010).
It is believed that there is no founder of Hinduism religion but it can be traced back in 1500 B. C. Hinduism is the greatest religion in India which plays a major role in the development of a strong religion. It is believed that Hinduism originated in those times of Common Era. Hinduism started during Iron Age and has greatly developed in different ways in the society of the India’s. Hinduism has gained a great development in Indian society. Hinduism was used as caste system which helped the society to determine what position or place an individual would play. The development of Hinduism in India has brought most changes in how the society behaved and the way they should relate with each other, (Swearer, 2010).
With the Hinduism being popular in India unlike Buddhism which had no roots in China, the religion has influence the society of India because they have believe in the caste system. With the helped of caste system, the society has developed social classes and thus the leadership of the country or the community becomes easier. The ancient Hinduism culture provided texts which governs the current society who practices Hinduism. On one side Hinduism is believed not to give correct information to the human being. This is because it does not provide information as to how an individual should protect him. In regard to war, there are just directions as to how war should be handled. They believe that God is the most high and thus He shall provide protection against any bad thing that might affect an individual. Later in the age, Buddha came with the issue of how peace and protection issues should be dealt with, (Coomaraswamy, 2010).
Conclusion
With the believers of Hinduism, the religion provides some measures of how to handle certain issues such as war so as to protect an individual. Most of people think that Hinduism and Buddhism do affect those who practice it but it has been shown by researchers that both religions provide guideline of how an individual is supposed to live. Both religions influence the society which practices them in positive and negative ways. With the guidelines provided by those religions, most people have been able to take right or wrong decisions in respect of how they perceive the message, (Eliot, 2008).
