Benefits and fulfillment of volunteering

Researchers claim that volunteering allows  one to connect with his or her community and improve the community. For example, one gets to interact with the community and improve the living standards in the community. Most  corporations have volunteered to  connect with the community and improve living standards in the community. They have provided various services like education, water and food. Volunteering helps one make new friends and  expand his or her network. This  in turn helps one improve his social skills. People should  volunteer so as to develop social skills. Social skills are vital as they help one interact and relate with other people well. Most people in the community do not know how to relate with other people and this hinders their progress (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Volunteering can help overcome these problems and help one olive a better life in the society. This is because volunteering helps one overcome issues like  being shy. Volunteering gives one an opportunity to practice  the new skills acquired and  strengthen your social skills. This  enhances ones social life (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Volunteering helps one make  new friends and strengthen his or her relationship. The best way to strengthen an existing relationship is through volunteering. When people volunteer they  carry out various activities together and this improves their relationship. In addition, volunteering helps one expand his network and exposes one to people  with common  interests. This helps one  improve his life. Also, volunteering exposes one to fulfilling activities that help him fulfill his or her dreams (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Volunteering helps children become responsible. For example, if  a parent volunteers as a family, then his children learn being responsible from the parents. This strengthens the family and makes the children to be successful in future. Moreover, children learn how to  help other people in the society and appreciate different people in the society (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Researchers argue that  volunteering helps  prevent depression. Depression is a common problem in the society. This is common among elderly people and young people. The main cause of depression is  isolation. People who are socially isolated are likely to have depression than people who are not socially isolated. Volunteering can help reduce the rate of depression among elderly people and young people. This is because one gets to socialize with other people in the society sand this eliminates depression. Studies have shown that volunteering is beneficial in older people. This is because it helps improve their life span by reducing various diseases that result from depression. For example, it helps eliminate heart diseases by reducing the  level of depression (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Additionally, volunteering helps one  advance his or her career. Volunteering helps one get  experience  in his area of interest and interact with different people who  advice him accordingly. Also, volunteering helps one apply what he has learned. This  helps improve skills like communication skills, team work , problem solving. Also, it helps one  improve skills in project planning and management of tasks. Hence, making one more competitive in the career industry (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).

Apart from improving career, volunteering brings fun and fulfillment to ones life. It helps one explore his  interests and passions. Volunteering  improves the level of motivation, creativity and vision. This helps one fulfill his life and achieve  the objective set (Clary &Rhodes, 2006).
