Weekly Summary
Organizations have the responsibility of promoting the quality of life in the community. This might be through infrastructural development, health programs and the like. Organizational culture is a critical factor that influences the strategies for social responsibility. Depending on the organizational culture, the organization might have a strong framework for social responsibility. The leadership structure or systems can also affect the organization’s strategies for social responsibility. The introduction of a scholarship program for needy students is an excellent social initiative for an organization.
Paragraph 1
Organizations have an impact on communities through their activities. The personnel or employees of an organization are drawn from the community. In essence, an organization would not exist if it does not involve the community. The YMCA and YMCA benefit the community because they empower men and women to lead dignified lives. The associations also benefit the community through Christian education programs.
Paragraph 2
Organizations have social responsibilities because they entitled to give back to the community. They must also be responsible in order to maintain the necessary ethical standards. If an organization is not mindful about the community, it can cause environmental degradation through its activities. For instance, this might occur through pollution. Similarly, an organization’s activities can harm social welfare by undermining the living standards in the community (Homan, 2010).
Paragraph 3
Disasters result into deaths, health pandemics, dilapidation of resources and suffering. Nobody in the world would like to face such challenges. Additionally, disasters are natural occurrences that are not preventable. In view of these perspectives, individuals are compelled to help in any way they can.
Paragraph 4
Without organizations, communities would be more or less incomplete. This is because some people would not have access to resources such as education or regular health checks. The needy people in the community are dependent on the services from organizations. This highlights the organizations’ contribution to the community.
