Compare and contrast – think which of these are pertinent to the development of each profession (for example nursing practice in its earliest form came from the teachings of Nightingale, which were rooted in military practices/ideologies; medicine has been traditionally seen as hierarchical, etc)
Apply one approach to your chosen professional area
Students need to consider
• The strengths and weaknesses of the chosen approach
• Has this approach already been used? Think, existing evidence, evidence transferrable from other professions, e.g. education, justice, social work, business.
• What is ‘contemporary healthcare’
