A Case Study On Organizational Behavior

The employees need to understand the significance of perception and make ascriptions. Joe’s case study reveals the concept of perceived behavior, in self-efficacy that promotes desirable work out put in realizing the goals of the organization. Furthermore, self-efficacy applies to all the stake holders starting with the top organizational leaders to the employees. Joe argues that High self-efficacy gets to be when workers get enticed to learn and plan a corporation using perception theory and competency likeable from the employee’s results and increased better responses from leaders. On the other hand, low self-efficacy gets to be when the employees complete a task with a presumed negative result, low self-esteem, negative attitudes deviation from goals, and limiting self-recognition; hence missing the completion  of the company’s goals (Delevante N. P, 2011).


The employees need understand how to make appropriate perceptions of their duties and achievements. This achievement can be accomplished when the worker understands his or her self competency. Self Competency refers to the ability, knowledge one has in recognition of personal strength and weaknesses, set and pursue in professional and personal goals.  Furthermore, one should be able to balance work and personal life, as well as, engaging in new learning.  The employees should also recognize the significance of positive attitude and self motivation in the working environment. Change competency is also another critical factor that workers should understand.  Change competency, refers the skills, knowledge and abilities to recognize and implement needed adaptations or generally new transformations in an individual’s duties, technologies, structures or strategies (Hellriegel and Slocum 2011).


       Many scholars such as A Bandura and Rotter Julian have endeavored to delve on the topic social learning theory.  Social learning theory of Bandura emphasizes the significance of observing and forming the attitudes, behaviors, and emotional response of others.  According to Joe’s employee’s situation, social learning theory will be the best approach for him to apply. This theory encompasses modeling of behavior and emotional responses among other factors that are crucial for employees to comprehend.  By learning how to behave within a social structure, will enable employees to engage in positive responses towards achieving the company’s goals.  In addition, the positive responses will be modeled by the employees or workers creation of self motivated reactions on various situations. Additionally, Rotter’s view on social learning theory is that individuality that signifies a relation of the individual with his or her environment. Personal or individual affairs cannot be referred as environmental; since environmental issues include those that surround an individual.


In understanding behaviors, an individual must evaluate himself using the experiences he has observed from others. Social learning theory explains human’s behavior in terms of continuous reciprocal, interaction between behavior, cognitive and environmental influences.  Since it comprises memory motivation and attention, social learning theory extents both behavior and cognitive structures. This idea enables the workers in learning various social behaviors that help them in making self motivated decisions. As if not enough, employees learn how to realize the outcome expected from them. In reaction to that, the employer manages to approve the progress of the employee.


Joe needs to make behavior model. This should be done by teaching the employees behavior in the social learning theory; hence modeling that behavior. Instead of him keeping on telling them what to do he should practically model for them and show them what is required. As they continue to practice the new form of model the employer can advance or develop more defined understanding of what behavior entails., This would ensure more success in social theory application since build their experience in behavior adjustments.


Joe should also encourage employees to imitate his behaviors. This means that after modeling his reactions, the employees should follow the pattern. Furthermore, leaders get mandated to verbally encourage workers to imitate them; since they play an exemplary role.  Leaders get encouraged by employees who adhere to the company’s principles and regulations. Joe can substantiate his modeling method in two ways, either by directly instructing them or reward the employee who followed the modeled behavior in a public fashion, letting others employees see that his behavior is the example that he wants all employees to adopt.


The next application should be for Joe to observe the workers as he carries out the behavior. Furthermore, he should continue eying on the workers, making sure that they are following the procedures they modeled. In case the one of the works does not follow these procedures, Joe should step in and correct the workers behavior, encouraging him to adopt the needed behavior.

As if not enough, Joe should establish repercussions for behavior deviation and abandonment. When the worker completely fails to follow the behaviors that Joe has endeavored to endorse, the consequences must be implemented.


 

For Joe to leverage an understanding of the value of self-efficacy, he must adopt a policy that would establish adamant ramifications. Furthermore, he should train his workers with adequate skills that enable them to perfect on behavior. By him inducing sufficient knowledge and skills on employees he should be able to get the most successful sales people. Additionally, Joe should also understand his need to apply self-efficacy.
