Colonial America
Colonial America
#1-Challenges
During that time, the main focus of Puritans was to reform the Anglican Church. In the process of reforming the church, they established the Massachusetts Bay. Puritans who settled at this place had a strong work ethic which made them encounter challenges such as developing market economy of the place. This was a formidable challenge simply because it did not rhyme with their religious beliefs. Another challenge that this group encountered was on the principles that Roger Williams taught. According to the principles of Rodger Williams, the church and the state were two different things hence separate. This was not what the group thought, and it made them become furious about such principles. Apart from that, they encountered a challenge of integrating with other religious. In summary, some of the challenges they faced included persecution from the church, threat of attack from Indian groups, lack of food, harsh winters, and hard living conditions among others, (Bataille, 2001).
#2-Cross-Cultural Exchanges
Cross cultural exchanges in the American culture developed both positive and negative impacts to the target parties. Some of the cultures that were involved in the exchanges included the Africans, Native Americans, Englishmen, and other ethnic groups. Evidence shows that cross cultural exchange for the Native Americans had a positive impact simply because it provided development in the society. It is through cross cultural exchange aspect individuals managed to acquire and share knowledge from one another. Americans took advantage of this concept by acquiring some of the skills they believed would help develop their country and economy all together. Africans, on the other hand had advantages over the cross cultural exchanges. They were able to study abroad and as a result, enrich their economy with skilled labor, (Middleton & Lombard, 2011).
In most cultures, cross cultural exchanges developed a negative impact of affecting cultural beliefs. Most people are in the process of copying the western way of doing things something that affects their cultural development. Some aspects of slavery continued before the weaker groups got freedom from the Americans. Spread of religious through cross cultural exchanges has created enmity among religious and countries. It enabled transportation of different food in different parts of the world. Cultures changed their staple food because the exchanges made introduced better foodstuff from other parts of the world. Cross cultural exchanges also created globalization because people shared knowledge and skills. Globalization enabled countries’ economies grow. Evidence shows that positive impacts were more as compared to negative impacts and that is why cultures did not go against the issue, (Bataille, 2001).
#3-American and England Colonial
Experiences in early England and American colonial were not something worth talking simply because it did not create an environment best for the entire community. The issue of colonial in these two environments created violent environment with a fragmented sort of society. Although not every experience developed negative results or every day was bad some people in these two colonies enjoyed promises of the situations. The American colonial enabled cultures exchange their ideas. Some people were able to learn from the Americans although they were in the form of slaves. Their main focus was to get skills and knowledge that would help them develop better environments back in their places. The problem with this was that Native Americans believed that they were superior and did anything to ensure they retained control over the issue. Their approach would even conduct killings but ensure no one was beyond their control, (Carr & Morgan, 1991).
In this situation, Native Americans enjoyed colonial promises simply because backs were seen as slaves and would do whatever the whites wanted. White men were worse simply because they did not give women any due respect. The work of women was to support male gender in all angles, and they should not complain anything. The British approach was slightly different because it had vast differences on cultures. Economic development was based on whites alone something that made it difficult, but later it was made open for all. Racial distinction was later overcome by economic development need something that created an aspect of individual’s wealth. People who had the potential to become rich managed simply because the situation of economic was no longer in control of the whites, but to all people, (Middleton & Lombard, 2011).
#4- New England with the Chesapeake
In the 17th century, the people of England decided to explore and enter into the market in order to learn new things. When these people moved out and entered into the world market, they formed the Chesapeake and the current New England. Although the two environments were created by people of the same kind, they become different on many ways something that would make someone think that they were from different backgrounds. In terms of religious, the New England developed many religious towns. This group focused on the issue of religious too much to an extent they only focused on developing religious in towns that they settled. On the other hand, the Chesapeake group had small religious that were spread widely in the small towns they hand established during their settlement, (Carr & Morgan, 1991).
The New England region had large families that focused on travelling and matters of religious in depth. Evidence shows that puritans were the people who created the New England. Because of having strong religious ethics, they developed many churches that had an impact on their living styles. They were reluctant to work because their main focus was on religion and this made them encounter challenges such as adhering to the principles that Rodger William taught about the state and religion. Chesapeake people were different in matters of wealth simply because they concentrated on aspects that made them wealthier day after day. Their focus was on economy development. The group had small families whose life style was different from the New England people, (Middleton & Lombard, 2011).
#5-North American Slavery
The origin of North American slavery can be traced or dated back when the Europeans arrived in Africa. The main idea of Europeans in African was based on expanding and opening trade markets, but things changed later. In the initial stages of trade, Europeans were focused on agricultural and mineral resources, but this later changed to be human resources. When the Europeans focused on human as the resource, the entire thing changed because the aspect of slavery started. Human trading had started in other places, but for the Americans it started by the end of 1400s. Slave trade was the best trading for the colonies simply because they become equipped with manpower and ownership of the offspring. Since they had control over other resource such as agriculture and minerals, they were able to conduct human trading with ease, (Carr & Morgan, 1991).
