Definition and defence of decisions made during simulation

One of the key aspects learnt during the simulation was the importance of corporate social responsibility which is popularly known as giving back to the society around the organization. Corporate social responsibility helps in building the image as well as the reputation of the organization such that its overall image is enhanced and made to appear less tainted (Sicart, 2009). Therefore, a decision was made for organizations which are looking for ways of improving their sales as well as increasing the productivity of all employees to engage in corporate social responsibility. This activity should be incorporated in the annual calendar of the organization such that every year there is a similar activity for a different group of beneficiaries. Something else which was note during the simulation is engaging al departments in the social corporate responsibility event collectively (Sicart, 2009).The other decision made during the ethics game simulation was creating awareness to all employees about their rights as well as the code of conducts in various situations. Employees who are not conversant with their rights and code of conduct often end up performing poorly in the assigned duties. This makes employees understand their limits and boundaries such that they are able avoid conflicts amongst themselves.

Relationships between concepts of virtue, values and morals in the simulation

There is a very close relationship between the personal values of employees and the overall morals of the organization. Corporate social responsibility is a virtue which when practiced in an organization boosts the morals of that company as well as promoting positive values among the workers (Sicart, 2009).Organizations which are looking forward to improving their public image by engaging in activities which are contributing to a worthy cause reap better rewards in terms of company morals. Incorporation of good values leads to increased commitment of employees as well as clients such that the overall productivity of the organization is enhanced.

How concepts of simulation relate to the work place

By creating awareness to employees about their rights, an organization is able to enhance the workplace such that a lot of conflicts as a result of employees not being aware of how to act when confronted by a problem. This move also increases the sense of belonging for the employees as the workplace offers equal facilities for all (Sicart, 2009).Engagement in corporate responsibility leads to improved morals as well as adoption of good morals and virtues such as helping the less fortunate. When an organization encourages its employees to lend a helping hand to communities surrounding it, the employees are known to be more responsible in addition to being ready and wiling to help.

How external social pressures influence business ethics in simulation

External social pressure such as oppression and exploitation of employees usually limit the chances of employers encouraging their employees to understand their rights. As most of the employees rights are geared towards reducing oppression as well as creating awareness on the appropriate pathway to follow incase of violation of the rights. Consequently, most organizations carry out corporate social responsibility as a way of increasing their market presence rather than adopting the activity as part of their goodwill Sicart, (2009).
