The Effect of Classroom Management on Student’s Performance
My knowledge on the effects of classroom management by proper prior preparation is based on my experience which is a combination of work as a teacher in the intermediate level, as a head teacher in both elementary and intermediate level, the shared and observed experience from fellow teachers, as well as the experience from my high school mathematics teacher as compared to my chemistry teacher for the same.
Being a mathematics teacher, one must put in mind that, to most students, mathematics is viewed as a difficult subject and so proper approach and instruction delivery must be adopted. Conversely, embracing proper management, the teacher must be conversant with the subject and use positive reinforcement in teaching; question from students should be tackled and not despised and no a way to undermine the students by shouting at them or referring them to the administration. The teacher must also make the class entertaining and worth looking forward to and not one that is too boring. Management also entails the classroom environment by first obtaining the students preferences and their purpose for the educational process.
In addition, the level of preparation of a teacher by good planning and organization as well as effective class representation makes the students perceive the teacher in a positive way as they can easily build relationships focused on academic improvement. From my elementary school experience, it is clear that definition of clear tasks, requirements and goals as well as information on progress in a given subject resulted to high achievements. Additionally, students cerebration, practice and reinforcement successfully enhances performance and equally so is the resolution of issues through queries and debates. Without such practices, a teacher can be hardworking but with poor classroom performance.
