Financial Resources And Quality Of Care
Financial Resources And Quality Of Care
The resources for the older population at the state, local and federal level are not different. This is because the government is aimed at providing care to the elderly people in the country. The objectives set by the government and the resources used to provide care to elderly people are similar to the resources used at state and local level. The government has enacted policies that help it provide quality care to the elderly people. The policies have not been effective as elderly people do not get quality care. The social security funds have helped the government care for the elderly population. The social security fund pays benefits to elderly people. The benefits are likely to increase in future. This will ensure elderly people get quality care (Schepp, 2010).
There is a relation between financial resources and quality of care. Some facilities provide quality care as they hire people who are qualified. In addition, the facilities create private pay. The facilities are mainly located in the private sector. Other facilities do not provide quality care as they do not incorporate the right resources into the organization. For example, the facilities do not have qualified professionals. Facilities managed by Medicare and Medicaid provide quality care as they utilize their resources well. Some countries do not allocate enough resources to manage elderly people and this has made elderly people more prone to diseases. The government should allocate financial resources for the elderly so as to ensure they get quality care (Schepp, 2010).
Some states do not have enough funds to care for the elderly. For example, the state of California does not have enough funds to support programs for the elderly, health care services and housing. Most facilities in the area are not able to offer quality care. Some have closed down as they have no funds. The federal government is required to assist facilities at the local level and state level provides quality services. The current economic crisis has made it difficulty for the federal government to provide assistance. The problems experienced at the federal level are still experienced at the local and state level. The care for elderly people has become a major concern in the society. They are not provided with good care like other people (Schepp, 2010).
