Flaws and Areas of Growth in Research

The one thing which I would do differently in subsequent research is ensuring that the thesis statement appears in the introduction, as well as, in the introductory paragraph of the research essay. Similarly, I would make sure that the sentence structures are developed in such a way that each sentence is interlinked with the other. The same case would apply to the paragraphs where transition would be developed accurately thus making the research projects a single flowing essay.

However, the topic would remain the same as it relates well to the content inside the research project hence it is relevant to the paper. The other item that would remain untouched is the outline of the research project. This was used accurately with each section being placed in its appropriate location therefore, enhancing the presentation of information (Sharp, 2009).

The strengths in preparing the research methods section were largely attributed to the number of research methods which we have been using in class projects. These are quite similar and they cut across diverse subjects as no method is unique to certain subjects. The other strength is that research methods has been my all time favorite topic in research work. Thus I was conversant with the various types and their applicability in the research project. Consequently, my increased interest to learn more about research methods has led to my more research on the functionality of these research methods (Sharp, 2009).

There are certain areas of my research project skills which require updating and developing. They include data collection techniques and their uses as this is a new area to me. Data collection in research projects requires the student to gather information and supporting materials for the research study.  The other area is on data analysis as the various data analysis methods that are posed by the research project are rather difficult to comprehend. The data analysis area comes after data collection and it entails data interpretation such that failure to understand this section creates challenges in other areas like the discussion part (Sharp, 2009).

However, to enhance my research project skills growth and reducing my weaknesses, I have laid out certain strategies which enable me reduce the flaws in my work. These include taking part in more data collection events and ensuring that I am actively involved in the entire process. Never the less by engaging in the data collection stage, I will read more on data analysis and seek for help from my instructor.

I will also try to understand the nature of thesis statements and their role in research studies to eliminate the chances of not including it in the introduction. To enhance my research project skills I will take up more engaging research projects which will cover every dimension of the study. The most significant step is incorporating my classmates in my plans so that I can gain from their strengths and weaknesses in research projects (Sharp, 2009).

The student’s posting which was analyzed had a clear outline and the content was relevant to the topic. However, the student failed to include a conclusion as well as the recommendations section. These are two vital component of a research project as the former summarizes the project while the latter provides room for further research on the same area (Sharp, 2009).
