Health Care Reform Initiative

Health Care Reform Initiative

Lack of budgets to fund health care reform initiative was one of the reasons why it took long for the bill to pass. Another thing was that its demand was too high, and the democrats thought it was not easy to realize it thus it lacks support making it difficult to pass. It also went through a lot of amendments due to its nature something that took a lot of time discussing on the relevance and applicability of the health care reform initiative program for all people.

A law that requires everyone to health care benefits the society by ensuring that everyone involved in the insurance program get health services at affordable rates. It also helps standardize health care services making it easy for the society to have access whenever they are in need of health services. One of the disadvantages of such a law is that it ties an individual’s health on the employment. Employment dictates the type of insurance cover that an individual should have, and maybe that was not the idea given some options.

Although to some point health care issues are based on personal or individual’s responsibility, to some extent I believe that the government should have a mandate on the individual’s health. Having in mind that the country is a humane country, the government should ensure that everyone has quality and affordable healthcare services. Since the government mandates other things like taxes, it should also mandate health care program in order to ensure that individuals get required services at a uniform aspect.
