Diabetes is a chronic disease caused by high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. The disease gets divided into two groups (type 1 diabetes and type 2). Researchers in this field affirm that diabetes can occur at any age. However, type 1 diabetes is most frequently diagnosed in kids and young people. The pancreas have insulin hormone containing beta cell that produces insulin supplied in the blood. This case study focuses on scenario 1 and 2 critical thinking questions.
Scenario 1 question one:
The impact of insulin-dependent diabetes on the patient; would range from new starts of treatment to avoid complications of the disease. The might experience psychological problems such as depression, since diabetic related cases affect the patient’s state of well being. Furthermore, the expenses that incurred during the diagnoses would lead to the patient’s psychological disturbance. For example, when the patient gets hospitalized obviously there would be increased costs emerging from treatment needs such as daily injections of the hormone insulin to survive. As if not enough, the patient is prone to other complicated diseases associated to diabetes; such as heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.
Practicing treatment administration on patients required dedication and commitment. Mr. Mathew’s disease needs a lot of attention, since he is dependent on the diagnoses administrated daily. This situation calls for practical engagements focused on improving the patient’s health situation. The practice would also experience long periods of diagnostic application to the patient, which requires, more time and physical presence of the clinics in the hospital. Most of the patients especially children need close attention, because of their sensitive nature. Costs of treatment could possibly go high since the patient would need long term specialized diagnosis. The practice provides experience in treatment administration; hence career advancement in terms of experience and practicability. In addition, career establishment strategies would be advanced by the prolonged administration of diagnose. During the application, of insulin supporting agents and studies on applying medical the career would be added value.
Scenario2:
On the medical practice, accuracy efficiency are key factors in ensuring healthcare provision. In a case, where the healthcare provider fails to deliver as expected life threatening issues arise. In Avery’s cases, of procrastination and inaccuracy jeopardizes her competence in medical practice. Furthermore, her behaviors discredit the competence anticipated in medical practice. The patient is also at a high risk of experiencing health complications due to Avery’s reluctancy. According to the principles of efficient medical practice, laziness is like a criminal offence, because it is a risk factor on the patient’s side. Avery’s behavior would result to inaccurate diagnose of patient’s because of her mistakes when charting. Additionally, the patients would lose trust on the kind of medical practice administered in such a hospital.
In all healthcare service providers, medical records get accurately documented since they determine the patient’s heath progress. The patient’s well being is the core reason for healthcare services; hence mischief in handling medical record is a criminal offence. Avery’s behavior would ruin the anticipated flow of patient’s medical records; resulting to loss of vital medical data. The maintenance of patient’s medical records would lack accurate information leading to wrong diagnostic application. Inaccurate medical records would affect the maintenance of patient’s medical records leading to false information about them. Additionally, maintenance of these records would be complicated, and inefficient enough to show the patient’s progress. I would caution Avery for her misbehavior and also urge her to avoid being lazy in her work. In case she does not stop this behavior, I report her to boss for further actions.
