Implementation Stage Issues
Implementation is the act of carrying out execution of a given plan or design in respect to the project. In other words, project implementation is the process of carrying activities defined in a given project in order for something to happen. Implementation of a given project begins when the entire plans are and set ready. Evidence suggests that implementation stage of a project is the easiest of all simply because most of the activities are already complete and defined how they will be. Although agreement and plans exist during the implementation stage, research shows that the problem or challenges occur on how well to execute the activities in the correct manner. Evidence shows that although most things are before the implementation stage, no project entirely proceeds without issues and challenges. Lack of management skills during project implementation is the cause of many issues that occur during project implementation, (Daft, 2009).
Poor work management plan is one of the issues that occur during project implementation stage. Without work plan, the implementation process becomes difficult and challenging. It is true that work plan in any action research project helps handle the entire thing in the best manner possible. Work plan should be reviewed regularly in order to ensure that things move in the direction expected. To know if budgets and plans are in the right progress, the project management should always develop review plans. Preparing for re-plan in project development is a problem that affects most projects. The frequency of project review depends on the size of the action research project. In large projects, review should be carried out every two weeks in order to ensure that all moves as expected, (Borkowski, 2009).
Budget issue is a challenge that affects the implementation process of a research project. Some project managers fail to monitor project expenditures something that affects the entire project progress. The work of a project manager should be to monitor the progress of the project and determine the actual consumed finances and make a comparison with the estimated budget. When managers discover that the actual consumed finances exceeds the estimated they just continue with the project instead of developing a solution. A proactive strategy should be developed in order to address the problem and leave the implementation process in the right direction. This should be addressed by parties involved in project implementation process in order to determine how the remaining work should be completed, (Daft, 2009).
Another issue that occurs during project implementation of action research is that management risk. In the process of project implementation, some circumstances or events that are not to the project develop and hinder the process of project implementation. Such events develop adverse impact on the implementation process hence the project manager should respond to the events in the best way possible. They are high, low and medium risks associated in the implementation of a project. Team members involved in project implementation process should have skills that help them identify such risks. They should proactively evaluate risks and develop a standard approach on how to handle those risks. In conclusion, every project expects a smooth implementation process. This is not possible because challenges occur during the process thus managers should proactively respond to this problem effectively, (Borkowski, 2009).
