Liberal Education and Home Economics
In the current generation the current state of the Human Science profession with Home Economics has some notable variations with what could be experienced in the past years. There has been emergence of digital technology which has led to revolution of information which has transformed the society hence the creation of new industries, careers and new working ways living and learning. These developments go hand in hand with the human sciences and thus it is affected equally. (Lee, J.A. & Dressell, P., 1963)
Genetically modified products have come into place. There has been intensive research on genome, knowledge on DNA and products that re modified genetically which create to new alternatives for prevention and treatment of diseases. Fruits and vegetables that are nutritionally enhanced have influenced control of weight and hence improvement in the practices of health.
In America there is experience of institutions that are altered. For instance the American families are mostly raising children in the absence of their biological parents. The families are usually smaller than the usual ones. The marriage sector is less central. The proportion of the adults who never have been married rose from 15 percent in 1972 to 23% percent in 1998. (Smith, Tom W., 1999)
The have been variations in the life of working. The choices are becoming more and more. For instances the numbers of women who start their own businesses has increased tremendously in the current generation. People are being operating multinational jobs whereby a person may be employed in one part of the country and then be employed in another country. People plan to be working in same capacity when they retire. (Stage, Sarah & Vincenti, Virginia B. 1997).
There has been duality society. For instance the high schools diploma is becoming critical and more a basis for security in the economy. Equally the gap in terms of income between the rich and the poor has continued to widen as time goes by. Although the forces of globalization have impact on the happenings with individuals and families, communities foster a sense of belonging and provide high touch environment that support the well-being of the society.
The globalization effect has been felt in many countries this is especially where the happenings of one country or society can be duplicated in another society due to the fast movement of information. The population is becoming more and more aged for instance in U.S. by 2030 over half of the population will have qualified to join American Association of the Retired Person which implies that they will have attained the age of fifty and above. Equally the boom in the birthrate is expected to be experienced.
Environmental programs have been developed to enhance its protections so that there us healthy living in the society. This is because ecological neighborhoods that are healthy depend on sustainable practices by the participants in the society. Healthy environment is critical for it leads to cutting of some of the social costs which may be channeled to helping of humanity in ways that are useful.
There is no majority ethnic group which is expected to be in place. The United States by the year 2020 is not expected to have a majority ethnic or racial group and this will lead to more diversity than ever before. The diversity is to be caused by the increasing intermingling in the society which results to increased intermarriages. It is essential for its makes the society to live in brotherhood and oneness.
