The results of the Moral Foundation Questionnaire suggest that I am a political liberal because I care about harm to society. According to the harm principle, political liberals are more concerned about harm than the conservatives. The results also suggest that I am a liberal because I support fairness in society. Liberal believes that equality is a critical value in society. They also believe that governments should play an active role in promoting fairness and equality. I support this result as I believe that fairness is an essential value. The results also suggest that I value the principle of loyalty. I agree with this result because I feel the loyalty is an essential virtue in any society. However, I was surprised because the survey associates loyalty with conservative principles. I have always associated with liberal principles. The results also suggest that I have an orientation towards conservative principles because I value respect for authority and purity. I do value purity and appreciate the role of authority in maintaining order within society. However, I was surprised that the survey associates these principles with the conservative ideologies.
The 2012 Election Media Study explores the reaction of individuals to the emotional tone taken by the media while addressing political issues. The outcome of this survey indicates that I have low feeling of moral outrage concerning the approach taken by modern day media. I agree with the result of this study. Media is part of the society, and it not morally wrong for them to have an ideology. However, it is paramount to ensure that the media give fair and equal coverage to all political players. The results are also correct by pointing out that I do not perceive news anchorage as being bias. The 2010 Election Media Survey result also reveals that I consider national debt to priority issue. I agree with this result. I believe that in order to address the economic problems of the country, the government must resolve the National Debt issue. However, I am surprised that this opinion is more associated with conservative principles than liberal principles. The results also reveal that I have a moderate stand concerning the significant of social issue in governance. I believe that these results are appropriate measures of moral foundation.
