My Philosophy of Nursing

Table of Contents

Nursing was the first and right career that came in my life. My philosophy of nursing develops from different aspects such as respect, core values, dignity, belief system, integrity, professionalism, and compassion. This philosophy is on four metaparadigms namely nursing, environment, health, and person. When this element does not exist, I feel that my career in nursing does not work appropriate hence it becomes meaningless to the society.Person: Nursing revolves around an individual’s health. My philosophy of nursing revolves around human beings simply because professional of nursing requires an individual provide the best service to the client. I look individuals as a whole and not single illness of the patient in order to create a healthy environment for all.

Handling patients requires acute care evaluation in order to develop the best relationship with the patient. I develop my own patient understanding ability plus the holistic element in creating the best environment for my patients. The narrow focus on traditional medical model has missed a lot in advancing nursing industry, (Butterfield, 2006).Environment: Traditionally, nursing revolves to create an environment best for patients and society at large. The environment that I always focus on is that that influences the health of the target environment. My philosophy as a nurse is to develop an environment that shapes behaviors of patients by focusing on external and internal factors that contribute to illness. My nursing knowledge helps be evaluate on different socioeconomic status of my patients. This helps me establish an upstream thinking strategy that helps me solve challenges that prevent the development of a healthy environment.

I believe I have the potential to develop an environment that ensures that ethnicity, social status, culture, tribe, and gender do not affect health services meant for patients, (Wuest, 2009).Health: Nursing ensures that health care services for populations and individuals get offered in the right direction. Health is a natural state from wellness to illness and determined by different environmental factors. My philosophy of nursing is to ensure that society lives in a health state by providing health services to patients in the best way possible. I manage to serve patients by evaluating the element of person plus that of the environment. This helps me determine what health care services to offer in order to develop my nursing professional. In my nursing practice, I come across patients who suffer from different diseases. To offer quality health care services, I always understand them and listen to their problems in a professional manner.

Individually, I have best methods to handle clients who are difficult to understand is listening to them and creating an environment that helps then see reality, (Schlotfeldt, 2010).Nursing: My philosophy of nursing is to help and assist patients who are in health difficulties. I also seek to advice and do counseling to individuals who believe they need health advice. I believe that nursing is part of society and should help society live in harmony by providing health services required by people, (Wuest, 2009).
