In order to boost the company’s performance, the new CEO instituted numerous changes to the company’s human resource system. The retrenchment of all employees over the age of 55 years was one of the changes proposed by the new CEO. However, one of the company’s senior managers expressed concern at this approach. According to this manager, the experience of senior employees was an essential pillar towards tackling the numerous operational challenges in the organization. Consequently, other managers supported this suggestion since they were familiar with the organization’s operational framework. After examining the costs and benefits of implementing this plan, the CEO decided not to retrench the senior employees. The decision was a massive success as the senior employees helped in reinvigorating the company’s fortunes.


Effectiveness of Questioning Culture

There are numerous factors that contribute towards the effectiveness of a questioning culture. Firstly, it is fundamentally essential to maintain the highest standards of accountability in this kind of culture. Without accountability, it becomes difficult to streamline the effectiveness of the questioning culture. Another pertinent factor of consideration pertains to empowerment. It is extremely crucial to empower employees to embrace the questioning culture (Benisa, 2004). Through such empowerment, employees are motivated to indulge in constructive questioning.

Without the relevant mechanisms for empowerment, it is extremely difficult for any organization to establish an effective questioning culture. The third factor that influences the effectiveness of a questioning culture is the engagement of different stakeholders. It is extremely vital to engage in active consultations in order to streamline the effectiveness of a questioning culture (Benisa, 2004).
