Introduction

Reality television has taken over cable television with literally every program claiming to be a reality show illustrating the events of a characters’ real life.

First reality Television show introduced to Americans in 2000 is Survivor

However, there is nothing real in the apparent reality television programs. Reality television gives viewers an unrealistic and falsified portrayal of real life. Unfortunately, viewers are drawn to the unrealistic occurrences which in turn negatively affect their behavior.

 Thesis: Reality television does more harm than good to the viewer as it is a mix of fantasy and reality

Most children in modern society believe they can be famous and popular only if they engage in reality television shows.

The society is getting exposed to non educational content in the name of entertainment. Reality shows give the wrong impression of the real life experiences.

Reality shows focus on glamour, beauty, cosmetic surgery

Excessive sedentary lifestyle watching television increases risk of diseases such as obesity

The increase of reality television program is an indicator that the society will be exposed to program that cause harm than good.
