Table of Contents

The prologue of the case study reveals Roberts Jones as a person with a friendly behavior. He is a decent 48 year old gentleman African American male married to Paula for 30years. Jones is blessed with two kids of ages 5 and 16. Jones was not totally sure why he was sent to a clinic, but he was sure that he was okay; and it was just a mistake for him to be sent to a clinic. The police (cops) accused him of weaving all over the road. However, they wanted to make sure that he was okay.  The cops began their test on Jones to be convinced that he was not under the influence of alcohol.

Jones claimed to be okay since he knew that he cannot drive when he is drunk. The cops tested his psychophysical abilities through first asking him if he had been drinking. This got done verbally to test his ability to respond verbally. Furthermore, the cops asked him to jump out of the automobile to do some more test on his physical ability. Jones did not understand why the cops where unfair on him since he is educated and that he holds a degree from the University. During the same time, the cop asked him to walk on a straight line, to touch the top of his noise with index finger of each of his hands.

The Diagnostic statistical Manual of mental   (DSM-IV-TR Diagnosis) got applied on Jones’s case by the cops performing the psychological and physical tests. During this procedure, the alcohol dependence with physiological dependence got utilized by cops in testing Jones’s behavior. In this case, the cops were set to disclose whether Jones was under the influence of alcohol.   DSM-IV-TR Diagnosis gets used in other fields of therapies. For example, the application of DSM-IV-TR diagnosis got utilized as criteria for pediatric Bipolar Disorder (Galanter, Hundt and Gyal 2012).

In axis ii, the personality disorders or mental retardations case gets disclosed when the cops get suspicious about Jones weaving behaviors. This behavior gets associated with mental disorders commonly found in mentally retarded persons. In axis III as a medical or physical disorder got addressed through the physical test exercises Jones was asked to undertake when he stepped out of his car. The IV axis is the factors affecting the current psychiatric disorder and diagnosis results. These factors include problem with work, social issues legal challenges/problems and other environmental and psychosocial problems.

In Jonas’s case marital problems got approached in a problem free dimension. The case study presents Jones as a gentleman who has a stable family containing a wife and their two children.  Axis v the global assessment, in his case is 70 point scale during the period of dysfunction.  Jones’s Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was confirmed (.20.) which gets to be more the required amount (0.08). This report indicates a problem that needs to be addressed biologically.       The BAC test complicated Jones’s situation since he got a finally winning blow by the cops.

The diagnosis required of the disorder in the DSM-IV-TR gets to be specific ally BAC symptoms of low concentration, aggressiveness impaired eye sight among others. The diagnosis for this case gets to be a blood transfusion while other diagnoses to be considered are therapeutic practices, and medicinal neutralization of alcohol concentrations in the blood stream (Galanter, Hundt and Gyal 2012).

The behavior theory according to a growing body of knowledge projects that problematic personality traits may be altered with behavioral intervention using a bottom-up approach. Robert Jones’ case is a replica of this theory since it focuses on the personal traits. The traits required must be ethically upright that one would admit mistakes without hiding some. In case, an individual gets to be in trouble the truth and openness in what he or she does.
