Role of Effective Communication

Role of Effective Communication

Communication is the aspect of sending information or ideas from one person to another, and there should be a flow of information. Effective communication is where the sender of information must develop ideas or transmit information in a manner that the receiver understands. Many a times, organizations face difficulties of transmitting information simply because parties involved fail to communicate effectively. Effective leadership communication is vital in the organization because it helps develop and co creation of leadership. Evidence suggests that effective communication enables develop an environment that is suitable in the creation of leadership aspects. This essay will evaluate on the importance of effective communication on co creation of leadership, (Cunliffe & Eriksen, 2011).

Leadership is an essential aspect in an organization simply because it helps create a workable environment. According to Lee, effective communication is not speaking alone. Effective communication in the creation of leadership and change within an organization encompass two aspects. Effective communication is one that allows the leader communicate in understandable and clear manner. This author highlights why an effective leader should learn how to develop clear communication aspects in order to pass information as expected. Developing clear communication requires understanding the concept of effective transmission of ideas. This has affected most organization developing an environment where organizational change becomes a problem.

The solid and foundation of an effective leader clear communication that is understandable. Lee suggests that, effective communication should help the leader during change development convince subordinates in a proper manner. Change should not look like a challenge to the organization simply because the leader and subordinates does not understand each other. This author has enabled me understand what effective communication is and how it helps leaders relate with employees in the work place, (Ford, 2006).

Joni (2002) develops a different version of the role of communication in co creation of leadership and change within an organization. According to Joni, effective communication is not the content of information said, but the mode on how the intended information is passed. The role of effective communication in co creation of leadership according to this author is developing an environment that allows the person communicate effectively. Ideas should be expressed successfully in order to achieve set goals.

Effective communication should help the leader develop an environment that allows subordinate parties feel involved in the organization change development. Joni has made me understand that effective communication helps creation of a leader who is able to understand employees. An effective leader should create organization change environment without forcing employees but making them understand why the organization wants change, (Ford, 2006).

According to my own analysis of effective communication in co creation of leadership and change within an organization, I believe Joni (2002) has critically evaluated the concepts. Effective communication is not the information, but the style a leader has to pass the intended message. This is a problem to most leaders something that affects their relationship with employees. A leader may have relevant information, but fail to deliver the message to the intended parties. It may affect the process of change that an organization may have decided to develop. Effective communication according to me is developing clear information that each and every party involved in a situation is able to understand. The reading from Joni has contributed to my awareness of the role of effective communication in co creation of leadership and how to relate with employees within an organization, (Cunliffe & Eriksen, 2011).

Evidence shows that effective communication in co creation of leadership should help develop credibility when message is delivered. I always engage in the process of crafting and developing technical terms in that I will use during communication. Although this is an effective approach that have made me survive for long, after reading Joni’s context I have discovered that there are areas that have always failed. In some instances, I fail to deliver clear information due to the technicality of words that I apply when communicating. This is a barrier to co creation of an effective leader. I have learnt the importance of developing clear and understandable information in the workplace. It helps in the process of change because parties involved in the process get to understand what they are expected to accomplish and focus, (Drath, 2001).

An organization wants to reach a clear change plan should have clear communication strategies. Most leaders mainly focus on the idea of communicating what they want, but they do not evaluate whether whatever they were talking was understood. Effective communication should be clear and understood by parties without any struggle. In order to facilitate effective communication, a leader should plan on how to communicate. Goals of communications should be developed in order to help come up with the mode of message delivery. When delivering your message, ensure that the other party clearly understands information intended, (Ford, 2006).
