How schools have interfered with student’s education
Schools have always interfered with the education of many students (Twain 2010). This is according to an article written by Mark Twain. Mark Twain explains how schools discourage students from developing independent thinking skills and learning skills. The world has changed much, and people have made a lot of changes using the current knowledge, and technology. Although, the traditional education system has always been continuously reformed, the system has not changed much. The traditional education system affects children education. This is because most children spent their childhood time in kindergarten and, many years in the middle school. In addition, the children spent most of their youth in college working hard to get their diplomas. This deprives the student freedom to learn (Twain 2010). This is because they have no enough time to learn on their own. Moreover, George Santayana explains the influence schools have on children’s life. He argues that children cannot get knowledge and skills they need to live in the society from college.
This is because students only rely on teachers to get the knowledge they need, but not skills to live in the society. Most college graduates are not able to live independently after school. For example, a college student in Tinghua University in china does not know how to lace up his shoes. The student did not learn how to lace shoes in school. Most universities emphasize on the need to improve education systems and knowledge structures in the university. But, they ignore improving the basic living standards in the society (Twain 2010). This makes it difficulty for the student to live in the society. The education system in most universities and colleges is limited and this interferes with the living standards of the students. The education system should emphasize on the need to improve basic living skills so as to make students live independently after school. Most graduate students in china do not find jobs.Parents force students to work hard to join universities. Students work hard in most schools for six years so as to pass exam and join universities. Students do not have freedom to read what they want.
The structure of the education system interferes with student’s freedom as students have to conform to the rules set. That is to pass exams so as to get a chance in the university. The education system in china has ruined students’ future by forcing them to work hard, but the students are not willing to work under pressure (Esteva 2010).Students should be given freedom to study what they want without any interference. The student should not rely on an educator or teacher to teach him, but he should learn on his own. This will ensure students have freedom to learn what they want. Students learn better when there is no one teaching them. The education system has made students loose the freedom to think independently and learn independently. Though, the education system helps organize knowledge, it should change how students learn. It should encourage independent thinking and learning. This will make it easy for students to integrate skills learned in the society with classroom skills. The integration of different types of skills will make students life complete. Thus, graduate students will become more important to the society and the country. Hence, schools should aim at improving students’ social life and education (Esteva 2010).
