Security Objectives

Security objectives are aimed at determining stability and expectedness in an environment. When determining security objectives one has to consider various issues like physical security issues. In addition, one has to determine personnel security problems and information security problems. Other problems include liability problems. There are various components that are applicable in the church environment. First, the psychical setting components are applicable to the environment. There are different types of physical security components. That is alarms and CCTV cameras. Other components include locks, lightings and security procedure manuals for the employees. The church can install alarms to help detect danger and protect the congregation from danger. This is because the alarms will help detect any danger before it affects people present inside.

Apart from having alarms, the church leaders should also use locks to protect people. Using locks ensures only authorized people are able to access the church and prevent thieves from entering the church. It also prevents people from setting bombs inside the church and hence ensures security. The lighting in the church makes it easy to identify suspects and it also hinders the criminals from committing such acts. Most of the criminals committed the criminal activities inside the church. For example, some shot their wives inside the church. The criminal activities could have been avoided with lighting as the criminals could be scared. Moreover, having closed caution television cameras in the church can also help enhance security inside the church and around the church compound. The cameras will make it easy to identify certain behaviors and suspects. The CCTV cameras provide an eye to the security system (Clifford, 2004).

In addition, having policy and procedure manuals in the church guides people in the church and this prevents such incidents. Also, the personnel security components are applicable in the church environment. The church leaders should ensure they hire the best employees and also fire employees who are not competent and trust worth. Hiring the right employees in the church helps promote security   in the church. It also helps protect the church from inside threats and outside threats.

Also, the connection between different departments is also applicable in the church environment. Different divisions in the environment should work together so as to promote security. The divisions in the church environment should work together to detect external threats and internal threats. This will help develop the right measures so as to protect the community. Failure to work hand in hand might lead to increase in number of threats in the church compound and lead to damage and death.

Though the psychical security components are applicable in the church environment, there are other components that are not applicable in the church environment. The information security components might not be applicable in the church environment. This is because the church does not keep information about the church community. Also, the liability components might not also be applicable.

If the events had occurred at a mall, the physical security components and the information security components would be applicable. This is because the mall has to improve the physical security and information security so as to prevent threats and risks. Also, the employee security components could be applicable as the mall needs to monitor its employees (Clifford, 2004).
