Social Network Analysis Theory
Social network analysis theory is vital in an organization simply because it helps define relationships that exist between employees and the company. Social network is a group of units say employees, group members, or organizations that have links that connect their interest. Social network analysis is the study or approach used to define relationships of units in a given situation. It also helps analyze the expected outcomes that the group members work towards the realization. Units in a social network must be connected by some interdependency aspects and must have a common base of work operation. SNA theory is relevant in the current business world simply because management uses this theory to develop different relationships necessary to the business, (Freeman, 2004).
Evidence shows that social network analysis theory in organizations operates under different levels. Levels under which the SNA theory operate benefit the organizations simply because it in some instance help solve different relationship problems. An organization may use SNA theory in developing sound and critical strategies for solving problems. This is one of the few applications of SNA theory in development and running of an organization. It is necessary for any organization to determine how things in the business are and operated. With the help of SNA theory, management gets an opportunity to develop strategies that guide on evaluation of how organizations are, (Haines, 2010).
SNA theory helps an organization determine the degree at which its employees operate to achieve organization goals. Without employee goal determination, an organization may stay in a situation that does not develop competitive aspects. Individuals must always be alert on the current business trends in order to develop relevant operational skills. With the help of SNA theory, organizations have managed to share resources within and outside business operation. This theory helps employees within organization spread vital information that helps them create a suitable working environment. Employees in an organization have managed to create a new culture that gives positive working conditions. Evidence shows that organizations use social network to increase their working conditions and share new working practices, (Freeman, 2004).
Within my social units, I am in sharing new practices and sharing information to accomplish business activities. The current social network developed in my work environment has assisted thousands of employees make working conditions easier than one would ever think. I have international managed to make new relationships with people in my field. We share new information on how to accomplish activities in the organization something that has made my working conditions clear and easy. I have learnt new working practices that the company has not realized. I have become one of most trusted and focused person within my field simply because people from other sections seek advice on different areas, (Jackson, 2003).Connections in my social unit have increased my thinking capacity making why the company ensures that I contribute on management level. It has created an environment where individuals from different areas seek advice on how to approach their problems from me. This is a clear indication that the social units that I have joined have assisted in developing my thinking abilities, (Haines, 2010).
