On Wednesday, I went into the library and sought permission to carry out an anonymous survey. The target participants in the study were both male and female. In this survey, 4 main questions were asked to those identified targets within the library. These questions were intended at evaluating experiences on academic consequences related to alcohol and smoking hookah within the last one month. Others have had more than one sexual partner within a year and the level of consumption when socializing or partying.

The results indicated that 84.62 of students had experienced one or more academic consequence associated with the use of alcohol. Majority of the undergraduate students had smoked hooker within the past month (73.08%), and 69.23% of students have had more than one sexual partner within a year. In addition, 64.54% of the undergraduate students involved in socializing or partying did consume more than four drinks. These findings indicate that students at VCU participate in alcohol consumption, have more than one sexual partner within a year, consumed at least four drinks during partying, and have had an experience of academic consequence subject to the use of alcohol.

My findings contrast the findings at the VCU Web Poster. From the poster, majority of the students (94%) have never had an academic consequence experience as a result of using alcohol. In addition, most of the students had not smoked hooker and neither have they had more that one sexual partner within one year. During partying, most students do not consume more than four drinks.

The VCU Web Poster findings (2010) are contradictory to the reality on the ground today. The results are only intended at portraying VCU as a healthy university. However, the undergraduate students in that university are nothing close to being healthy. Within a span of approximately two years, the culture among undergraduate students has changed remarkably. The results illustrate that a fresh research need to be carried out to identify reasons for such change within just two years. This way, it can be easy to curb these practices.
