Schools in the modern days have advanced technologically through obtaining computerized systems, as tools to enhance quality education. This development has enabled many disabled students to access up to date technological services provided through this advanced technology systems. In most cases, disabled students are put in the same class despite their disparities in; abilities, disabilities, in fully understanding the lessons being taught. Therefore, meaning that they are not learning at the same velocity. This is why this technological advancement should be considered in making sure that the disabled students are taught with specialized software systems that would cater for their needs depending on the diverse abilities in learning.
Technological systems enable individual disabled students to learn at their own pace as well as the teacher monitoring them closely as they find out their strengths and weakness in their studies. Furthermore, this system enables teachers to keep better and accurate track record for his or her student by safely storing information in the computer memory. When the instructor is in need of organizing the student’s data, these technology systems enable him, in easily analyzing all the students’ records reducing unnecessary paper wastage. Technological advancements enable the disabled students to cultivate a positive attitude towards achieving their educational goals as well as equipping them with the modern technological knowledge as a crucial requirement in the modern society.
Research design description:
This research design proposal will be focusing quantitative research approach to determine the relationship between the selected independent variables and depended variables. We shall look forward to select a sample size of the beneficiaries of the technology advancement and those who have not benefited from the advancement. In addition, the sampling shall be random sampling based of genders represented in the class both male and female students.
The sample number will be dogged by the amount of disabled students expected to contribute in the study process. In addition, out of 40 students 30 will be female students while the rest will be male students. Female will be more than the male because in all normal circumstances women tent to be more than men, and most of the classes normal school classes have about thirty to forty students per class.
Stratified random sampling shall be adopted since there are special teams of people such as the instructors who contribute some classified information for the study.
Qualitative research design method of approach will enable the researcher to collect statistical data analysis required to document a complete research report collected from the field of study. There will be designed consent letters to be addressed to the school management. This letters will be fro purposes of asking permission to conduct the study in the school premises. More consent letters will be made to inform the authorities and borrow permission for operating within their domain areas. Interviews shall be conducted to various informants such as a selected representative number of 40 informants.
These informants shall be divided according to their gender orientation 20 ladies and 20 gentlemen. The researcher shall formulate open-ended questions to the informants asking them; their occupation, their view on the technological advancement positive or negative impact in the disabled class, and what should be improved incase the impact are negative, while if the impact is positive what has contributed to this out come. These informants shall also fill the questionnaires with their; gender status description, occupation their experience with the technological systems and finally how the systems have affected them either positively or negatively.
The questionnaires shall be addressed to the sample of about 20 teachers who will be representing the stratified random sampling for specialists in technological affairs of the disabled class. Another tool of data collection, as well as, storage will be some video clips recorded during the interviews, at the interviewee’s consent.
This documentation shall be useful when analyzing the collected data to make the final report. A computer system shall also be used to analyze and store all the information collected during the field data collection as well as typing the information and editing the video clips collected during the interviews. All the information on the questionnaires shall be analyzed in percentage form according to the number of the questionnaires which shall be turned in, as well as how all the questions are answered. This style of data analysis shall enable the researcher to organize the information to present accurate data. Numerical data documentation shall be analyzed effectively to present the number of people who will give positive and negative impact of the technological advancement in the disabled class students.
Furthermore, figures representing the percentage data collection shall be included. For example, a table displaying the percentage figures of the informants who responded to the interviews, as well as, figures of the total number of questions answered. This information will be divided into two headings, which will be, representing the gender as discussed earlier.
The validity of the data collection tools will be justified by utilization of the compilation of the statistical data collected by the computer system which will be done through the research data analyses programs. These programs will enable the research system; accurately arrange the data collected using the automatic indenting, table of contents analysis and alignment among others. The reliability of tools used in data collection will be justified by the fact that, all tools used shall first be tested on their functionality before being put into use to avoid any try and error situation.
