For instance, Mark Abthorpe works at Nottingham Trent University while his compatriots are accomplished scholars in reputable institutions in the United Kingdom and USA.

ERP comprises of technological platforms that help in streamlining the operational efficiency of an organization. From the Rolls-Royce case study, numerous perspectives about the implementation of ERP are evident. Firstly, it is fundamentally essential for an organization to train its workforce on the tactical attributes of ERP systems. Without understanding the technical attributes of ERP systems, it would be difficult for an organization to implement this technology effectively. The employees should be tactically proficient with the different perspectives of organizational technology (Wallace, 2002). Consequently, they must be trained on the usage and importance of ERP systems within an organization.


Apart from training employees, another essential attribute of training employees within an organization is transactional training. This mostly pertains to the prevailing leadership framework within an organization. It is extremely vital to align the leadership approaches to the different components of technological systems within an organization. Depending on the prevailing leadership tactics, an organization can enhance or undermine technological efficiency. This justifies the significance of transactional training during the implementation of ERP.

Without an effective communication framework, organizations would struggle to implement ERP systems. The enhancement of integrity standards within an organization is also vital in streamlining the implementation framework for technological systems such as ERP. Having examined the different perspectives of implementing ERP, it is essential to assess some of the most outstanding advantages of such technological systems. According to the authors of the article, the benefits of ERP can be categorized into three platforms. Firstly, ERP enhances the efficiency of supply chains (Harwood 2003). This is evident within the operational framework of ERP in Rolls-Royce. The second notable merit of implementing ERP systems pertains to the effectiveness of management information systems (MIS). For instance, ERP is excellent in enhancing the speedy access of MIS. The third outstanding advantage of ERP systems encompasses the “automation of business processes within an organization” (Yusuf & Abthorpe 2004, p. 253). All these attributes highlight the significance of implementing ERP systems within an organization’s operational framework.
