The Interactive Digital Television’s Past Present and Future
The Interactive Digital Television’s Past Present and Future
Abstract: Television has played a large part of everyone’s lives since time in memorial. Ancient broadcast or cable operators now have to deal with “over-the-top” capabilities of networked televisions, and the way their viewers use them. Technology has continued advancing, as well as, creating new digital air waves and astonishing new model television sets. The old set of television sets currently is hard to find since they are replaced by new.
The first target of this talk is to investigate the various technologies required to be part of this television revolution, and what it implies for engineers working in the area. These technologies include; software engineering, systems engineering, network infrastructure, graphic design, imaging, statistics, project management, and pattern recognition. The engineers have an enormous responsibility to work towards margining the above mentioned technologies in order to fulfill this television revolutionary. Each of the technologies will get positioned on its own; since all of them play a different role in advancing television advancement.
The second aim of this talk is to relate these different technologies to how the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) can help appear to grips with these areas. The IEEE has also amalgamated with other organizations such as Institute of Radio engineering (IRE) and American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) aiming to advance Television and Radio systems. These different technologies integrate in terms creating a systematic series of television development. Through the application of this diverse system of technologies, the television picture and voice quality will be meet modern standards.
Brief Biography: Peter Kootsookos, since leaving graduate school, has spent time as a professor, in government research labs, and in commercial industry. Mr. Kootsookos holds a B.E. and M. Eng. Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland and a Ph.D.in systems engineering from the Austrian National University.Peter Kootsookos had been an IEEE member since when he was doing his B.E., and he is currently a Senior Member serving as Secretary of the IEEE’s Connecticut Section.
This talk has disclosed several about television revolution, as well as, amalgamation of various technologies aimed at developing television technologies. Furthermore, understanding how IEEE can help in holding these diverse technologies.
