Organizational Engineering

A field of insight that seeks to comprehend, forecast, measure and direct the behavioral aspects of human beings is referred top as organizational engineering, which is based on the view that there is the need for people to utilize a decision strategy in various aspects of life. My primary strategic processing style is that of a logical processor and the second style is that of a reactive stimulator. A combination of my top two strategic styles indicates that am a performer. An examination of how the two styles and my strategic pattern would have an impact on decision-making and communication process will be presented.

Discussion

One of the key attributes that applies to people who have the reactive stimulator and the logical processor strategic styles is that they are highly-decisive. Hence, as a reactive stimulator and logical processor, I would be fast in the decision making process. The justification for this is the fact that a reactive stimulator is action-aligned and tends to respond vividly to a given situation with the hope of generating an immediate outcome.

This implies that such an individual would tend to take immediate action when it comes to making decisions. The other point is the perfecta and systematic organization that is associated with logical processor. This implies that the decisions that I would make at my workplace depends on thorough and organized thoughts. Such decisions are most of the times logical and sound (Ungvari, and Strategic Product Innovations (1998.A combination of the two strategic styles results to a medium ability to connect with others.

This is due to the fact that a reactive stimulator has high networking skills while a logical processor has low networking skills. Hence, a combination of high and low networking skills gives an average or medium level of integration. The decision making strategy of a reactive stimulator is that of taking action while that of a logical processor is a structured one. This implies that that my decision-making process in the workplace would be highly structured and action-oriented. This implies that I believe in structurally-based action with immediate action (Ungvari, 1998).

The decision making process would however be challenged by the high data gathering nature of a logical processor. Though active stimulator rarely gathers data, a logical stimulator is active in data gathering. Rather than gathering data, a reactive stimulator prefers gathering other people’s opinion. This implies that there would be consultation of various sources prior to making the final decision. This implies that the decision making process may take some time. When it comes to planning preferences, it is evident that as a performer, my planning would be effective. A logical processor is more organized and would therefore display perfect planning skills.

These skills would however be limited by a reactive stimulator’s tendency to rush into taking immediate actions without giving a more logical thought. It is therefore evident that though I would deem to be effective in planning, there would be some constraints and limitations (Griffin and Moorhead, 2009).A logical processor is highly organized and structured. For this reason, there would be a tendency to communicate and make decisions in a logical and organized manner. It is however important to note that the high organization manner would be limited by a reactive stimulator’s tendency to show less organization.

Generally, my level of organization as a performer would be average or medium (Griffin, 2009).As a performer, there are high chances of being an effective leader. Some of the qualities of effective leaders include implementing effective changes, motivating people and making logical decisions. As a leader, I would tend to make logical decisions and act on the decisions with immediate action. The other quality that would promote by leadership nature is the ability to increase organizational productivity due to making sound decisions based on logical thinking.

The most appropriate leadership styles that would fit my strategic pattern are charismatic and transformational styles.Additionally, I would to be less controlling. This is due to the fact that my course of actions would be based on logical thinking and gathering other people’s views and ideas. This means that I would appreciate a collaborative decision-making process that is characterized by gathering data from various parties and individuals within the workplace. This information would then be synthesized with the aim of coming up with an eventual fair and logical judgment (Ungvari, 1998).

Conclusion

The two strategic styles, logical processor and reactive stimulator amount to a strategic pattern of a performer. The communication and decision-making procedures of the performer are influenced by the specific traits associated with the two styles. While a reactor strategy of making decision is based on action, a processor’s strategy is based on thorough thinking and synthesis.
