Who qualifies for grant money in the government and private sector
A grant is a monetary award that is given by a grantor. The government and private sector use a lot of funds inform of grants for development. The organizations offer different types of grants(Nance-Nash, 2009).. Some organizations offer education grants, housing grants and business grants. Most people do not apply for grants because of various problems. People do not know what a grant is. Most people confuse a grant with a loan, and they think grants are repaid. Others do not apply for grants because they do not know where to find them. People do not apply for grants because they do not know the credentials required to apply grants from the government and private sector. In addition, people do not apply for grants because they do not know how to apply, and who qualifies for the grant.
This subtopic analyzes who qualifies for a grant from the government, and private sector. It will help people understand how the grantors determine who qualifies for a grant (Lauffer, 1997).The government and private sector do not limit the number of people who are required to apply for a grant (Lauffer, 1997). Any one can apply for a grant from the government and private. The person should meet the requirements before applying for a grant from the government, and the private sector. Different organizations require an applicant to have specific qualification so as to qualify for a grant from the government, and private sector (Lauffer, 1997).Some grants have strings attached, but other does not have strings attached. Grants with strings attached are mostly offered by government agencies (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006). The government gives grants to people who state clearly the objective of the project. Grants from the private sectors do not have strings attached (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006).
Grantors use different methods to determine people who qualify for grants from the government, and private sector. Some of the grantors use applications, personal details and grant proposal to determine who qualifies for a grant. Others use qualifications that are specific to the type of grant. For example, in education, grantors use the financial stability, and academic achievement to determine who qualifies for a grant. Most grantors offering health grants, housing grants, research grants and businesses grants use applications, grant proposals, and personal details to determine who qualifies for grants from the government and private sector. Mostly, a grant proposal is used in many fields to determine who qualifies for a grant (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006).To qualify for a grant one has to submit an application. The applicant should develop the application well. This is because grantors analyze the applications to determine the best candidate. The quality of the application will determine if one qualifies for a grant from the government, and private sector (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006). Most grantors require the applicant to submit an application.
The applicant should include all the details in the application. Grantors do not offer grants to people who do not submit good applications. The applicant should develop the application in the right manner. This is because many people apply for grants from the government, and private sector. Thus, the application should have good flow. Many people do not qualify for grants from the government and private sector. This is because they do not submit applications that meet the standards in the company (Holis, 2004).Moreover, to qualify for grants from the government, and private sector one should fill in all the details in the application form. Most grantors from the private sector and government agencies provide application forms online or from the offices or library (Holis, 2004). The forms have guidelines to help the applicant fill in all the details. The applicant should provide all the details. This is because grantors analyze the details to determine if one qualifies for the grant.
Many people do not fill in all the details in the form because they do not get the right assistance. This makes it difficulty to qualify for grants from the government and private sector. Many people in the society are not educated and they do not know anything about grants. This makes it hard to apply for grants from the government, and private sector (Holis, 2004).People who qualify for grants from the government and private sector submit good proposal. Most grantors require an applicant to submit a grant proposal. The grant proposal gives information about the project the applicant wants funded. When analyzing a proposal, grantors look at the objective of the project being funded (Lauffer, 1997). If the objective of the project is not similar to the objective of the organization, the applicant is not given a grant. To qualify for a grant from the government and private sector, one should develop the objective of the project well. When writing a grant proposal, the applicant is required to provide a summary of the project objective. In addition, the objective of the project should be stated clearly, and should have connection with the objective of the grant. This will make it easy for the applicant to qualify for the grant (Lauffer, 1997).
The other sections of the proposal should be developed well as the grantor analyzes them. The proposal should have relevant information about the project. Government agencies offering business grants, health care grants and research grants require the applicant to submit a grant proposal (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006). The quality of the grant proposal will determine if the applicant qualifies for a grant from the government or private sector. People do not know how to write a grant proposal, and this affects their performance. Most of the applicants are disqualified as they do not have the qualifications needed (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006). This makes it dificuity for the public to access grants. For example, when applying for a research grant one has to present a grant proposal to the grantor. The grant proposal explains the aim of the research, and how the applicant is going to use the funds. If the applicant does not submit a grant proposal he does not qualify for a research grant.
The applicant is also required to develop the grant proposal well. If the grant proposal is poorly designed from the structured of the content, grammar and the objective the applicant does not qualify (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006).When offering businesses grants, grantors use the grant proposal to determine the applicants who qualify for grants from the government, and private sector (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006). The applicant submits a grant proposal explaining the aim of the project, and how to use for funds. To qualify for businesses grants one has to develop the proposal well (Nance-Nash, 2009). In health care, grantors use applications and grant proposal to determine who qualifies for health care grants. Health practitioners should develop quality proposals so as to win grants from the government and private sector (Karsh Elen &Arlen, 2006).The qualifications for education grants are different. To qualify for education grant one should not be financially stable. In addition, the applicant should show excellent performance. Most people apply for education grants, but they do not qualify because they do not have the qualifications (Nance-Nash, 2009).
Grantors give education grants to applicants who qualify for education grants. For an applicant to qualify for education grants, he should show strong financial needs and achievement. The applicant should not come from a well off family. Thus, to qualify for education grants one should have excellent academic record. After getting the education grant the applicant should continue to perform well. The grantor will always monitor the academic performance of the applicant. If he does not perform well, then the grantor will withdraw the grant (Pickett, 2008).In conclusion, to qualify for a grant from the government one has to submit an application, and a grant proposal (Pickett, 2008). The two items should be developed well so as to earn the applicant marks. The applicant should not be financially stable and should show strong academic achievement. The above qualities are used by grantors to determine who qualifies for grants from the government and private sector (Pickett, 2008).
