Personal Statement
The purpose of this letter is to convey my heartfelt apologies for the role in the reason that lead to my suspension from the university. I am sincerely sorry for the reasons that lead to the university decision and I honestly regret the pain it has caused not only myself but my family as well.Please note that I am not and cannot justify my poor performance in the particular subjects. I am humbly drafting this letter as a kind appeal to the university to consider the reasons that lead to the unfortunate turn of events that saw my grades fall. First and foremost this is the period I was struggling to familiarize myself with the U.S system. This is the first time I was being subjected to the U.S system and I was really working hard to get it right. It was honestly a difficult period given that I was also handling other personal issues.This is also the period that I was trying to balance other numerous obligations I had then. It was one of those periods in life where majority of things that need your attention suddenly come up at the same time.
I was honestly overwhelmed to say the least but I was still determined to make something out of my life by trying to balance emerging issues when I was suspended.It was a really tough period for me considering that in the midst of this I had to work between here and DC. My just concluded marriage was also not making matters easier for me. Here I was, a young family man not used to the responsibilities that come with marriage life, trying hard to balance issues that were to be honest beyond my control.When I got my suspension, I almost regretted having gotten married as I viewed this as having contributed towards my dismal performance. I just hope you will put yourself in my situation then and see that I am not in any way giving reasons to justify my poor performance.I have since solved most of these issues and I can guarantee that my grades won’t be affected again. I took time off to think of how to improve my performance and I am happy to say that I have come up with a strategy on time management.
If implemented I am sure I will be able to handle both my personal life and academic work in a satisfactory manner.I have also decided to enlist the services of a private tutor who will see me improve my grades on areas I consider I need special assistance on. In addition to that, I have also decided to have constant communication with my professors and am confident and optimistic that this will greatly help improve my performance not only in my weak academic subjects but overall.With that in mind, I humbly seek to have the university re-admit me. This is the only chance I have in life to make my life and that of my young family comfortable. I have in mind a happy future with my wife and kids and I honestly believe without a university degree all my hopes for that will be crashed. The university has this chance to help me realize my goals; an opportunity to give me a second chance in life. That is all I ask for.I humbly and kindly thank you for your time and consideration and pray that the university considers my re-admission.
