Healing hospital paradigm aims at attaining a holistic approach to health care. Many patients have witnessed the benefits of healing hospital environments. These include features into the hospital structured to decrease stress and encourage the healing process. This essay discuses the healing hospital paradigm components and their relationship to spirituality. Sometimes providing technological support for this creation could be a hitch to the creators since there could be limited expertise. Hospital environments as we all know should be a quiet place, but sometimes noise pollution from the surrounding can be hard to control. As a matter of fact, hospitals build near town centre get affected by noise produced by automobiles, people, and plains.

On the other hand, different patients suffer diverse kinds of ailments; hence creating healing environments that suit them all is a tremendous challenge. Aesthetic appeal needed by individuals differ; hence it complicates creating a healing environment that befits variant people. In addition, striking a balance between the new scientific advancements and the demands of some cultures, also poses challenges in creating environmental healing. Creating a healing environment requires the ability to differentiate light intensity which is not easy to tell. In preparing comfortable habitations needed by patients, creates several options had to choose. Providing all environmental standards required by the hospital inspectors also complicate creation of healing environments. Hospitals are quite secure places for patients and the working staff; hence assuring safety for the whole institution is not an easy task to undertake. Creating a healing environment meeting a majority of the patient’s needs creates difficulty in sustainability, as well as completion. Most of the individuals who create healing environments get challenged by the critics who get jealous of their prospective projects.

The biblical passage that supports the concept of a healing hospital is the healing of Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52). When Jesus was on his travel to Jericho followed by a multitude of people, met a blind man called Bartimaeus besides the road. This man had called Jesus severally since Jesus’ disciples rebuked him for his persistence in calling. Luckily, Jesus heard someone calling his name from a distance and went back for him. The blind man got lifted and brought at the feet of Jesus. Jesus asked the man “what do you want me to do for you?” the man replied “just help me to regain my sight”. Then Jesus touched the man’s eyes, and he regained his sight back.  This passage discloses the healing activity that happened as a result of faith in the divine being (Jesus). The healing hospital provides the concept of love and care, which gets demonstrated in the book, Mark 10:46-52. Jesus displayed care and love by opting to go back and rescue the Bartimaeus the blind man. Furthermore, according to the healing hospital’s concept of spiritual healing this is a perfect demonstration of spiritual hospitality to a desperate individual.
