Narrative Therapy
As a friend of Kimberly, as well as, being a person who is conversant with narrative therapy, adequate conversations with the victim could help them realize that they are nor the only ones who have been affected by the problem. On the other hand, many people get their marriages or weddings broken down by their fiancés without any real meaning hence it would be impossible to brand them unloved because of such a scenario (White, 2005).
To avoid subsequent feelings of being unloved, Kimberly should establish a close relationship with friends and relatives who will shower her with love hence the feeling will be eliminated such that she can be able to confront her fiancé. Consequently, during the self-discovery process, Kimberly should be helped to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the incidence. It could prove worthwhile to note that such an incident happened with a reasonable cause for its occurrence as sometimes events do occur to protect the victim from subsequent harm. In this case, the fiancé could have been inhibiting certain behavior which could have ruined the marriage in the initial stages. The bad side of the incidence should also be sought to eliminate suspicions and unwanted fears which could have developed in the cause of the event (White, 2005).
Kimberly should be encouraged to understand the key basis of such incidences to enable her overcome it and move forward more courageous than before. Similarly, this will help her gear up for subsequent similar events in her life as some things are bound to happen at unexpected times (White, 2005).
