Role Of Senior Members Of The Society

 Comment 1

The role senior members of the society play in the societal setting cannot be overestimated. One, the experience they have gathered over time can be utilized to guide younger members of the society and guide them with regard to life. Hence they should offer the younger generation guidance in whichever area they choose. Choosing to help at a health facility is especially helpful as in one way or the other; it will end up making a difference in the life of someone. However, the activity one chooses to engage in should be informed by his or her preferences, i.e. what one enjoys doing most.

Comment 2

It is true inflation can bring about a number of problems not only for the general populace but for the elderly as well. In fact, the elderly are most affected as they have over time accumulated quite an amount of savings. Inflation has the ability to wipe away those savings. In my opinion, I think the retirement benefits senior members of the society should be revised annually to reflect the rate of inflation (Ball 2007).

Comment 3

In my own opinion, each case should be decided on its merit. First, it is very important to note that advance directives especially when reached at by competent persons should never be ignored at first instance. However, in cases where an alternative is clearly identifiable, then it should be tried out within the framework of the advance directive to see how it works out.

Comment 4

As noted earlier, each case should be decided on its own merit and while the advance directive of a hospital tends to be quite particular especially in instances where the patient is undertaking some other medications, it still makes great sense to come up with these decisions well in advance.

Comment 5

The problem posed by inflation within the older generation is very real. With their savings wiped out and their income fixed, the only way to keep up with the raising costs is to borrow. With no source of a substantial income, the elder members of the society end up being unable to service their loans and have to rely on family members just to make ends meet. In my opinion, new solutions need to be formulated so as to address this problem.
