Since childhood, I have clearly had an idea of the career that I wanted to pursue. In my entire life, I have always been fascinated by the study of sciences and computer science is the specific area of science that greatly interests me. The world that we live in is a dynamic world. This to me means that with each new day, the technology changes. As I was growing up, I saw the technological changes that occurred and this created a passion in me to pursue a career in technology science. Thus, I intend to make great advancements in my career in computer science. I strongly believe that this will be of great help to me since it will equip me with skills thus exposing me to the great world of technology. Through this, I hope to make great contributions in the advancement of technology.
Currently, I am a senior major in computer science. During the fall semester 2009, I joined college for associates in agricultural science and my academic standing has all through been good. Throughout college, I have maintained good academic grades and my overall undergraduate is 2.94 GPA. I am a responsible person and always work with dedication. I am a Durango co resident of La PlataCounty and though I have never attended any high schools in Colorado, I easily adjust and thus get acquainted with different people. Being bi racial, I am able to comfortably accommodate racial diversities, study and thus live in harmony with my fellow students despite our racial differences. My attendance to Trident technical college and CentralTexasCollege further shows how I am dedicated to gaining knowledge.
I come from a family where none of my parents has got a degree or attended college. Due my parent’s lack of higher education, they have never been able to find a secure job and therefore they have always been struggling to bring us up. Recently, my sister graduated from this college and her studies were wholly financed by our parents. Though my parents have a strong desire to see me through college, they are finding it difficult to raise my fees because of the financial constraints that they are faced with. I have a strong passion for education and do not wish to discontinue my studies due to financial problems. That is why I am applying for financial aid from the FortLewisCollege foundation to enable me complete my studies successfully.
My intention is to practice the skills I will gain in computer science in the United States. In the United States, science and scientific invention is greatly encouraged. I believe that with the knowledge and skills gained, I will be able to make a difference in the world of computers and technology. Joining FortLewisCollege was the best decision I made. This college provides a conducive learning environment for me. Further, it is a college which supports racial diversities and people live well as one family. I believe that studying at FortLewisCollege will enable me achieve my dream which has always been becoming the best computer scientist.
