Introduction
Smoothie Company is one of the best companies in the market which operates in the line of beverage production. The main products which smoothie produces are the yogurt and fruit products which contains unique and testy flavor and the way they do pack their products is much different from others. On September 2001, the company was formed with the aim of providing health customers with high quality healthy beverages. The company was based in New York but has since then developed some branches in different parts of the world. Two of the major market targets which the company has deployed since its inception are 1) gyms and health clubs which contribute a lot in the company’s sale and 2) some of small markets within the geographical area where the company is set up, (Fine, 2009). A previous analysis of how the company operates shows that the company has a good market scale which has helped it in maintaining its operations despite numerous similar companies in the market. Through this essay we shall discover some of major strengths which have made the company to excel such as employees and products and also the weaknesses which affect the company such as the product capabilities and the rest.
SWOT analysis
In order for a company to excel well in any given market setting, the management should conduct a good SWOT analysis. This will help the management to know their strengths which have made them to strive despite the competitors and also some of the weaknesses which might affect the operations of the company, on the other hand, SWOT analysis helps the management to determine some of their opportunities which they have in the market and on the same time some of the threats which they are likely to encompass during their operations, (Solomon, 2009).
Opportunities:
Being a strong company in the market, smoothie holds some of the opportunities which have helped it to have a good market share. The following are some of the major opportunities that the company has.
v In the current world, most of the people have discovered the need of a healthy living with new young people entering in the market and also the old consumers are still there
v Existing consumers have not lost the trust of the products and thus it provides the company with an opportunity to have new product lines
v The unique and flavor products the company produces outstands other small companies.
Threats
Although the company has some of opportunities which might help it in striving in the market, there are also some of the threats it may face. Some of the threats which the company may face include (Fine, 2009).
v There is an increase in the some of similar companies in the market in the last few years
v Some of the low curbs are closed and this makes the company to experience low sales out turn
v The environmental under which the company is setup have been experiencing some economic down turn and thus the potential sales volume might decrease
v Competitors potential in the market; some of the large firms which are in the field of operations are in a position to conduct promotions which the company is not able so as to increase they sales volume and also to market its products
v Lack of enough funds to produce high quality products and various brands so as to hold their consumers and also produce services which cater for high class and low class consumers
So as to hold a good market segment and not worry about the competitors, smoothie needs to look at its threats and make a good strategy which will help it to compete with similar companies in the market. On the same line, the company should utilize the possible opportunities which it has so that even if the competitors are in the market, it can still retain its market segment or the share it has in the market, (Solomon, 2009).
Strengths
Smoothie being one of the best companies which produces healthy beverages and similar products, it has some strengths which has made it to strive in the market. Some of the strengths that the company has include the following, (Fine, 2009).
v The company holds some of the creative employees who helps the company in coming up with new strategies
v A good number of the company’s employees are trained.
v The recipe which the company uses is of high quality and also it is unique and that the reason it produces outstanding products with exceptional flavor
v The company is in a state of dynamic operation due to it entrepreneur ability over a period of not less than 9 years.
v With several years of operation, the company has be able to gains some market secret and thus it is able to change with the current technology
v The company has a strong distributors and manufactures network which helps the company’s operations to run smooth
v Most of the consumer target groups are going for quality products and with that they help in marketing the company.
Weaknesses
Although the company has several strengths, it has also some of the weaknesses which make the company to come up with strategies of ensuring it has retained its market share among its competitors. Some of the major weaknesses which the company has include, (Solomon, 2009).
v The company is short of financial resources which is supposed to use in promotions and marketing its products
v The company is small in size and thus it is unable to cover a large area which most of its competitors does
v With the small size it has, it is unable to have flexibility in terms of its personnel
v Since the company relies on the external production, it is not able at times to meet for its customers demand
Conclusion
It is evidently that the company will still remain the best health beverage producing company in the market because of its unique products. The company has two marketing strategies which have helped it to have good working and producing environment. One of the marketing lines is the consumer markets where the company targets the primarily consumers of the product. Another line of production and marketing strategy which the company uses is the organization market which contributes a lot in its operations.
