Thinking Critically Simulation

Introduction

The main aim of this essay is to provide finds on simulation aspect of thinking. In this assignment, an individual is required to act as a manager and take the responsibility of some of the problems that affect Credenhill organization. In this essay I will point out some of evaluation techniques which if employed appropriately can be used to solve simulation problems. There are different approaches that can be used to solve some of multiple problems that might affect an organization. In the essay, I shall point out some of decision techniques which can be used to provide alternative approaches to solve problems. Skill that helps an individual to deal and make sound decisions is one of the main tests that the assignment has built on.

Problem Evaluation Tools

One of the tools that are important in this setting is the criteria matrixes. The use of this tool will help an individual evaluate some of problems that have been developed by the on going issues of Credenhill firm. With the use of the matrix tool, information for every single problem and what had resulted to the problems was managed to be recorded. With matrix approach, it’s possible to classify the problems and in the same line deal with the most touching problems. This is a priority approach method which tries to classify issues in respect to their importance. Having classified the problems, the next step of looking for possible solutions was much easier simply because priority enabled the entire process to be systematic. With the help of criteria deployed in this situation it was much easier to compare and contrast problems and their result thus making a wise decision that will rescue the entire firm from such problems in near future, (Apollo Group, 2004).

Intuition laid the foundation of the entire decision making process. Having successful business activities is the entire dream of any given entrepreneur though there are some of problems that may in one way or the other prevent the occurrence of the expected. With the help of tools such as affinity diagrams, flow charts and others such as cause and effect diagrams, the position of the company is evaluated thus making it easier to deal with the entire problems. To determine the cause of problems, cause and effect diagrams were used and to rank problems and how they will be solved, affinity diagrams were of more importance. The work of the flow charts in environmental setting was just to provide a process on how things were to be done regardless of their nature. With flow charts an individual clearly strategies how problems have emerged and how they will be solved, (Apollo Group, 2004).

Decision Making Steps

In order to determine the position of Credenhill and what its current opportunities, the only approach which is suitable is the use of SWOT analysis method. In SWOT analysis an individual gets an opportunity to look at the business in two main perspectives. We have the internal point of view and the external point of view. With this type of organization learning method, an individual gets an opportunity to discover the firm’s strengths and weaknesses which creates the ground on where problems are determined. This is the only method that helps someone place his findings on the basis of the competitor simply because it covers even the outside environment of the firm and thus applicable to our study area, (Apollo Group, 2004).

In the process of simulation, some of tools and techniques which were used in the inception stage gradually changes as you deploy new ones. In your decision making process, the approach changes simply because those tools that were changing are reviewed and becomes vital. The first approach that I deployed was to brainstorm the entire situation. This helps in creating a common ground and environment which helps in determining problems and ways on which should be deployed to handle those problems. Use of diagram was very important simply because some of developed ideas required to be formatted in a manner that will tend to bring out some solutions towards the problems. Diagrams also enabled to group detected problems and how some of possible solution may be deployed. Affinity diagrams greatly contributed to the selection approach of important procedures or solutions that could be deployed in solving the most crucial problems. Benchmarking helped to point out some of the main problems such as the product mix and satisfaction of employees’ job among others, (Apollo Group, 2004).

The next step in simulation was making decision through some flow charts that enabled to point out some possible approaches that could be employed and solve related problems. Also the diagram was of use in pointing out some strategies that could be applied in pointing out some of possible services that have made individuals to be reluctant to change. With the help of influential diagram, it was much possible to determine certain aspects such as objectives and decisions and how they can be applied and influence each other in getting solutions to problems pointed out. The importance of cause and effect diagram come at the end of the process simply because problems and their solutions were able to be ranked and how importance each solution strategy was towards the entire decision making process. Similarly it was possible to determine some of the possible routes that we used which affected and other benefited the company and the entire environment at large, (Apollo Group, 2004).

From the analysis made, it was certain that no environmental condition was affected and thus the entire process of decision making was successful and at the same time yielded good results. Control charts were highly used to ensure that entire process has been followed and that is why each and every step was attended as planned. Control charts acted as a reminder on what was required to be done and by when was it supposed to be finished, (Apollo Group, 2004).

Outcome

The main aim of the entire decision process was to provide a result that was valid towards the problems. Value analysis was the key method used in order to realize results that were valid thus providing solutions to all and the main problems that the company was undergoing. Value analysis was actually the best method simply because each and every single step or aspect that was to be dealt with was touched and solved as per the instructions and that is the main idea towards the realization of what should be done in ensuring that all problems have been solved. Some of the key outcomes that were picked out were that sales need to be increased, in order to satisfy the employees, it was not good to shift them in the new branch, and taking care of the budget plan through making valid decision making discussions, (Apollo Group, 2004).

In order to have a new branch that would have quite well start operations, some of the approaches that have been pointed out in the case could be of importance. As a manager, it was the best and important approach that the problems were pointed out with their solutions developed thus the approach was quite important and useful to the company, (Apollo Group, 2004).

Conclusion

The entire simulation process proved that thinking ability and capabilities for a good manager are present. Though there were some difficulties that resulted to mistakes made during the process, referring to materials provided and practice made it possible to encounter the whole process. In general, simulation task assigned provided an environment that enables an individual think positively and become so creative.
