Cognitive Literacy for Preschool Children
Literature is one of the most important aspects that should be considered in child development. Research shows that children start learning things when they are born. Parents should develop a healthy learning environment for their children. Emergent literature helps children interact with the surrounding environment. Writing and reading are some of emergent literacy components. From the time a child is born until reading period, the process of emergent literacy takes its course so as to prepare a child in real reading as well as writing, (Gonzalez, 2009).
Teaching emergent literacy requires skills in order to understand the development of the kid. Ensure that you are consistent with writing and reading components in order to provide or develop a direction that will enable the child understand the expected concept. When preparing a child for reading and writing, ensure that there is a consistence of communications aspects that enable the child to have close contact with things that are expected in writing and reading. Research shows that parents think that reading and writing should be taught when the child starts school. A child should be prepared early enough so as to have a slight idea on what is expected, (Gonzalez, 2009).
A child’s future education may be determined with what was provided in the early stage. According to research, children who are given the opportunity to interact with components of writing and reading in their early stages develop a healthy learning environment that helps them perform well in their future. Parents should be role models of their kids by showing them importance of reading as well as writing, (Gonzalez, 2009).
