Change in Management

Change in Organizational Culture

Table of Contents

Over the years, management has changed in terms of organizational culture. Changes in organizational culture may be analyzed from different perspectives. Firstly, employees are required to act according the fundamental organizational values. For instance, some companies have strong value for teamwork while others encourage independence. The company’s image is based on organizational culture. Organizational culture has also changed in terms of human resource management. (Schein, 2010) The recruitment process in modern day organizations must conform to the company’s organization culture.

Corporate Responsibility and Ethics

Modern day organizations must develop policies that align with specific requirements of corporate social responsibility and ethics. In previous years, auditing was mainly done to evaluate a company’s financial performance. However, modern day management involves evaluating the specific contributions made by an organization towards the society.

On annual basis, organizations must submit corporate responsibility results to authorities for audit. With regard to ethics, organizations must conduct themselves in such a way that they do not violate human rights and integrity of competitors. For instance, an organization that specializes in the production of consumer goods must certify international standards. Organizations are also required to treat all employees with dignity. (Schein, 2010)

Culture and Diversity Conflicts

In order to avert diversity-related conflicts, modern day organizations must implement policies that enhance the appreciation of different cultural representations within their workforce. In previous years, organizations did not have such policies. This is a major reason as to why diversity conflicts were commonplace within organizations. The various cultural representations in an organization should be perceived as sources of strengths and not weaknesses. This is why organizational management has to respect all employees irrespective of their background or ethnic identity. (Schein, 2010)
