About You Questions

I am a hardworking person who respects work ethics. I Have good interpersonal skills and with the inner desire to support and help others. I pay close attention to details and am conscientious because I know the decisions I make do impact on the lives of other human beings. I have worked in helping my father run his pharmaceutical store. My duty was mainly collecting of the required medicine by the customer and also as a cashier.

I have strong working ethics, positive attitude I can work in a team work environments, and I have   good communication and interpersonal skills. I can truck a number of projects at the same time is a skill that helps me meet my deadline at the required time. Though some will say that this is multitasking, I consider being helpful for I have a perception that my ability in doing different tasks especially in a drastic school and workplace change. Undertaking the different tasks   has enabled me to accomplish weekly assignments at the expected time. Computer skills are also my strongest quality. I learned the basic computer skills in high school. Since then I have constantly earned new things and programs that have gotten me be more intrigued with computer use.  One of the things I find totally fascinating is the speed at which data input and feedback is possible. I also a person who stays focused to my goals and I always work towards the attainment of these goals.

I can be a rush in making decisions which I later realize I did not consider all options. My greatest weakness is that I constantly want to be appraised and welcomed by people I am round with. This makes me be constantly and easily hurt by relationships and indifferences that I have with colleagues, classmates, and peers. This is weakness that also affects my leadership skills. I do not like hurting people, and this makes me hesitates to argue and present my opinion among other people interfering with my ideas. I can procrastinate things. This makes me wait up to the last minute so that I can complete a given task as per the set deadline. This does not mean that I am not an organized person, but sometimes I forget, put aside or just feel lazy to do the important things.

The things that I will want to change the most are my procrastinating habit. I know that this is behavior that will make me miss out the vital issues that affect my life.  Procrastinating is behavior that can be changed when I fully dedicate my effort to attaining my life goals. I would also wish to change my behavior of wanting to please everyone.  This is behavior that makes me not to effectively articulate my opinion and not to be a good leader. My wish is to become leaders who listen to other people’s ideas but make the final decision concerning an issue under consideration. I should not be swayed by people’s opinion because of fear of hurting their feelings. The third aspect I would like to change is being rush. I should take time to consider the best options before reaching the final conclusion of the issue.

The common styles of handling conflicts that I use depend on the problem and the situation. Mainly I use the compromising and collaboration strategies.  The compromising strategy is mainly for a problem that I find no sufficient solution to the issue. Also, this solution would best   be partially satisfactory to the parties involved in the conflict and neither of them is fully satisfied with the solution. Another strategy is the collaborating strategy that I use with both parties to understand their views and concerns.  I will then provide my personal opinions with the effort of completely and mutually providing a satisfactory solution to both parties.

In my experience as a leader, it has been all about my ability to listen to others compromise and empathize. I have managed to impact on others and make them feel their personal compromise. Since high school, I have been involved in activities that educate students on the importance of education. I have continued participating in these activities even after high school through volunteering in NGOs and other programs that stress on the importance of education.  This has been driven by the inspiration of wanting the young people to go beyond high school level to greater heights of their academic life and not simply seeking a job or joining the military. I have shared my experience to the young people that act as a motivation to them to also pursue bigger challenges in life.

I engage in community services five hours in a week and help my dad in his pharmacy store. I also volunteer in a local hospital to teach hospitalized children sciences and math. I also hope to take part in intramural sports provided it does not take much of my study time.

The courses that captured my interest were mainly Biology, chemistry, mathematics, and English.  In biology, I was mainly interested in units like the fundamentals of genetics, microbiology and cell biology. In physicals units such as chemical reactions, kinetics, properties of matter, organic chemistry and biochemistry intrigued me.  I also like social sciences and humanities. I believe that these courses have provided me with the foundation knowledge   expected in undertaking the pharmacy program.

9. Interests outside pharmacy

If I do not join the pharmacy school, I hope to involve in other careers that enable me to help other people. I am interested in becoming a doctor.

Though predicting the future is difficult, I know have my direction of the future in place. In 5 years, my   hope is to be among the best employee in the organization.  I aim to be an expert and be relied upon by others. By so doing, I believe that I will be prepared to undertake greater opportunities that will be shown in the long term duration. In ten years time, my endeavor will be to have a well refined client relation and strategic skills. I intend to be the leading pharmacist and an expert in the industry.  My work as a pharmacist will be to educate people, balance the regimes of drugs, check medications and consult physicians. I will be part of the Hospital pharmacy evolution towards one stop dispensing, electronic prescribing and provision of speedier discharges to patients. My role as a pharmacist is will be to specialize in specific areas in this filed and to be a consultant pharmacist. I will work at a national level, with the effort of   improving safety, standardizing practices and setting up guidelines at a local and international level.

I always help my dad in his pharmacy store during my free time. I get to learn more about drugs and medicines and their manufacturing companies.

As shown in my resume, I have undertaken the expected core courses for pharmacy and other courses, as well. I choose the undergraduate school for it gave me an opportunity to improve my skills and be knowledgeable in the field of pharmacy and have helped be have the pharmacy profession in mind. Additionally the undergraduate school has helped me gain a practical view on how the courses can apply in real life career. Therefore, I do not think I would have changed anything or do differently.

I do physical exercises such as jogging, swimming and talking long walks.  I also breathe deeply to relive tension, repeat words and quotes of encouragement, laugh, or even cry.

The most challenging course to me has been accounting.  This is especially in financial statement consolidation that I found to be the most complicated and difficult course.

Motivation is one quality that enables me be an effective leader. I have the motivation, and I can inspire others. I am also confident and courageous. These qualities enable me to hold public speeches. Through good communication skills, I am able to articulate myself adequately and to listen to what others have to say.  I am also outgoing, warm and humorous.

Both tactics of studying are good to me because I believe that they go hand in hand. By studying g individually, I gain ideas that help me contribute to group discussions. I gain new ideas from a discussion group which assists me to remember and study in depth   in my personal studies. Both modes of studying have helped me understand new concepts and pass my examinations.

I apply the knowledge I have on various issues. Understanding plays a critical role in assisting me applies the ideas in various ways. It is necessary to first understand a concept before going ahead to memorize it because the core issue is to gain an overall picture of a learned concept.

About Your Pharmacy School Goal

My goal is to fulfill my interest in providing high quality care to the communities that are unreserved in America today.  Pharmacy is one of the ways of ensuring that the undeserved population gains access to affordable and high quality healthcare service that they deserve. Pharmacists and hospitals can work together to ensure that patients receive cost effective treatment. I am interested in the mechanic side of pharmacy by interacting with individuals and letting them be assisted with the medicine I know can help them in their illness. I also like pharmacy because it has the business and science side of it because it is a field that has an entrepreneurial and corporate side of it. This enables this career be an opportunity of great pay as well as to facilitate my desire to help other human beings.

Since a young age, I have been seeing father as the solution giver. He seemed to be a person who knows everything and had the cure to almost all forms of common diseases. He could prescribe more than 100 patients with over the counter drugs. I have never heard of a patient bring complains that the prescribed medication did not work. The professional work of my father also made me admire to be like him in all ways including being a pharmacist.

First is the need to complete this pre-pharmacy program or to earn a bachelor’s degree in the field of pharmacy. After completing this level, I will be able to b e a licensed pharmacists in the US. The bachelors’ program will introduce me to courses such as toxicology, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and biochemistry.  I have also evaluated my interested and I know that I would enjoy being part of the pharmacy career. I have taken the required courses such as microbiology, mathematics, and English. With this program, I aim to take part in a clinical setting where I will complete the residency program in a specialized area.

Being a pharmacist involves more than being prepared to dispense medications.  There are other responsibilities that a pharmacist should undertake such as caring for the patient. This enables the healthcare facilities to provide patient oriented services that will maximize the effectiveness   of medications. This means that pharmaceutical care aims to attain positive outcomes through the use of medicine so as to improve the quality of life of every patient this means that pharmaceutical care is an outcome-driven and patient-centered practice that requires the collaboration of healthcare providers together with the patient so as to prevent diseases and to promote health. As  a pharmacist, my duty will be to monitor, assess,  modify, and  initiate the  patients use of  medication so as to ensure that  the regimens of  drug therapy are effective  and safe.

Being a pharmacist requires one to have  the  qualities of  humility, empathy, kindness, patience, knowledgeable, acts as an educator, be business oriented, detailed oriented, can interpret prescriptions accurately and has a good memory. Leadership skills are also an important attribute of a pharmacist. This is because he or she is expected to be in charge of any challenges   and supervise the work of technicians and supervisors in their daily operations. The pharmacists should know how to get things done and in an efficient manner.

In the coming 10 year, I will be playing a major role in providing expertise consultation in the field of pharmacy. This is through promoting the incredible and unique understanding of medicines s and how they interact.  This mean I will be acting as an educator to patients and their families.  By then, I will be playing a significant role in quality improvement and the provision of evidence-based medicine. The anticipated challenges will be low salaries, poor working conditions, and employment changes that generate a lot of condition.

In preparation for   PCAT, I should avoid procrastination and overconfidence. I encourage myself ever to fall into the trap of procrastination and overconfidence.  I should have confidence and self motivation. In my preparation for PCAT, I should motivate myself to perform at my level best and to face the challenges that come along. I should select an appropriate place to study.  This should be a place with no distractions and disturbances that will give me time to concentrate and gain more information. In preparation for PCAT, I should study on a regular basis because this will help me retain and grasp the main concepts taught in class. Practice through the past years test papers is also important.  I should improve my writing and vocabulary use so that it’s appropriate for PCAT. Last, I should focus on revision as a necessary aspect in preparing for this exam.

Knowing the source of my stress forms the first step in dealing with the stress. If is money and having to   juggle both my studies and other jobs, I will request for online pharmacy school. This will help me effectively manage my time well, and it will in the long run be least expensive.  I should set out a room or community library, where I can study and memorize the various concepts in pharmacy. Being sure of all my activities and having a good plan will also help me to effectively reduce and eliminate stress load. I should also check on unhealthy lifestyles such as not eating, overeating, watching too much TV, drug, and alcohol abuse among other activities. I should say no and have limits to aspects that might increase stress.

The main challenge I anticipate after completing pharmacy school is stiff competition. Currently there are new pharmacy schools that are sprouting out at an international level all over the nation even online pharmacy schools. This will limit the chances of gaining employment. There is also the challenge of having to be constantly known and watch because the field is constantly changed through the need to adapt new compounds of drugs and new formulas. This means I have to be on constant know on the barrage of information. I have to love the challenges of learning new chemical compounds that change on a daily basis.

I have   good planning and organizing skills that I can use to ensure work is carried out effectively. I believe that I can develop new concepts and innovations and put them into practice. These are important qualities that will help me meet the daily changes involved in the pharmacy filed.

Yes. I have a strong family support in undertaking this course and later becoming a pharmacist. My father is my role model. He has exposed me to this filed, and he hopes that, in the future, I will go further   than him in the field of pharmacy.

The major aspect I like about pharmacies is that they provide care to patients in the community. Also, since medications play a significant part, I believe that proper use   of medications play an important part of human lives. This means that pharmacies will continue to be a vital part of team of healthcare providers. The issue that I dislike about pharmacies is the drug product being used as a commodity in, which generic medicine can cost about $4, and the coupon shows $25.  With this knowledge, patients can switch to the cheaper medication drug. However, pharmacist views this negative aspect for they cannot make money from the product instead of the service provided. It is important that pharmacies should focus on the services and not the product. This way both the pharmacy profession and patients will benefit.

I will take a doctor’s course to become a physician or a dentist. This is because I will still be able to care for the sick people.

I have worked in a pharmacy store where I have seen the activities of the pharmacist and how he does his work such as prescribing medication and being the leader in the pharmaceutical company. I have improved on my math and science skills in my teaching experience as a teacher. I hope to undergo challenging and extensive training and education for me to become a qualified pharmacist.

My role as pharmacists would be to serve in the best interest of the community members. I should encourage them to ask any question and provide them with confidential consultation.

I chose pharmacy school because of the passion that I have had since an early age of becoming a pharmacist. I also believe that being a pharmacy student gives me new opportunities such as working in research labs as an intern. I also like the patient interaction, and I believe in my duty as a pharmacist, I will be able to make a different public health and the lives of individuals.

I have worked in a pharmacy store for several years, but I did not have the needed pharmacy   skills to prescribe medications to patients. I have also taught and prefectionized my skills in mathematics, physics, sciences, and biology this enables me be a potential candidate to the pharmacy school.

18. Your top choice

I will choose the   pharmacy school that offers best and flexible curriculum and education schedule. I will also choose that is less expensive.

Pharmacy School Questions

The main reason as to why I want to join USC’s School, of Pharmacy is because of my mentors who   had attended this school. One is my father and the other works as the head of volunteers in Elephant pharmacy.  I also like this school for its excellent resources. I have checked on various online resources that this school of pharmacy has and I am amazed.

I will be attending classes and at the same time use online classes.  These modes of learning are both supported by USC’s Pharmacy school. The online classes will help in submitting assignments and holding group discussions with my peers in far off location. Attending classes are also compulsory especially when a news topic is introduced by my lecturers.

The pharmacy schools I have applied for are UOP, UCSF, USC, and UCSD. I applied for all these schools because I was not confident enough with my GPA even though I performed well. So I kept on trying from one to another. I was  called for an interview with UCSD, and  instead  of telling them whom I am as  pharmacists I only spoke of  myself just like any  other person. I have UOP and USC as my remaining options. I hope to be part of USC.

A school with adequate resources and student support. The school should also offer accredited program and should have modern day facilities

I hope to enroll in this pharmacy school because of its   updated facilities and offers accredited programs to prospective students. There is also residency options based on the desired area of specialty among students.

This program feature course on moral requirements and professional ethics expected of an acting pharmacist. The program does not only ensure that students not only be of a high academic caliber but also be of high moral standards.

Current Issue/Scenario Questions

In order to change this I will strongly involve in activities that advocate for the welfare of pharmacists. Another challenge is respect and working conditions. Many pharmacists are exposed to working   for long hours as much as 12 hours a day with no lunch breaks. There is also stiff competition in employment channels. In the industry, I will set long term plans that will change the course of these challenges through advocating for policies that will benefit pharmacists.

I will not consider the answers and question given to me by my classmate. First these questions may not be the actual questions that will come from the examiners in handling this situation, I have to consider my ethical standards and do the right thing.  The leaked paper will have to be reported to the management authorities to sure that students are not swayed off by such behaviors.

Better decisions can be made when one understands how to follow and make ethical decisions.   The second option is through undertaking a systematic approach. I  my job as a cashier in my  pharmacy store, a customer gave  me excess money thinking it was  a  much lower  denomination note.  Considering the fact that this is a frequent customer I had to call him back to give him his change instead of keeping it all to myself.

I have witnessed dishonesty in a classroom setting where students cheat in examinations. Due to my moral sensitivity I called the two students and informed that if I see them cheating again during examinations, I will report them to the school management.  This is a problem that could have affected me as a teacher and also the life of students.  It was my responsibility to stop it as soon as I can.

My responsibility as a pharmacist is to protect the patients by ensuring their improved    well being and safety. I have the responsibility of referring patients to other healthcare providers   for support and help. I have the responsibility on advising and informing patients concerning their health. I can provide and prescribe them with medications and other related services when needed.

Last year in the pharmacy store I was working in, I was in constant conflict and disagreement with one of my team member. The problem arose due to the age difference we had. He thought that, as a senior adult, I could not make decisions that affect his duties in the company.  This problem was resolved when we talked, and I told him that the organization success does not depend on one person but on mutual respect and learning from one another.

Difficult customer or co-worker

I had to deal with a difficult customer after he insisted that the drug prescribed to him my one o f the organization licensed physician had negatively reacted with other medications. The problem was with the client doing forgotten to mention a medication that reacts negatively with the one is prescribed. We have to take a lot of time explaining to the customer that the problem was not with the physician

I have just finished reading the book, “I am a Legend’ by Richard Matheson. This is a book   plagued with Morrissey and undead predominate.  It is an interesting book that a close friend gave me.

This is a term that describes the qualities, aims and conduct expected in a profession   and from a professional person.

In school, I found myself with a huge load of assignment that all has to be completed within a short duration of time. I had to draw a time plan on how to hand each of the assignment but   promising them based on the most urgent to the least urgent ones.

 11. Understanding diversity to pharmacist.

A pharmacist has to understand the difference and disparity of people they are dealing within. These pharmacists work in communities and pharmacy schools. In understanding diversity, it will be possible to close the gaps seen in access to health and in health in undeserved international, national and regional communities (Scott, 2009).
